Though the review below was true at the time, sadly the last 3 times I ordered, the food has been bland and tasteless. The teriyaki chicken that I ordered ended up being not teriyaki chicken, but some kind of beef which was bland. The pork egg foo young that I was so happy to find has been a greasy mess and the gravy flavorless. I will say the wonton soup was stupid as well as the eggrolls, but everything else is and has been a huge disappointment the last few times. Everything tasted like it had been deep-fried in old oil.
So... I ordered a fairly big order of Pork Egg Foo Young w/extra gravy, Large Won Ton Soup, Xtra Crispy Noodles, Chicken Fried Rice, Crab Rangoon and Vegetable Egg Rolls.
Decent Egg Foo Young, in my opinion, has been difficult to find and lo and behold here it is in Meridianville (I also found it in Hazel Green but read on their reviews that I would be better off coming here to Meridianville and I'm glad I did). It was delicious! The gravy was perfect and exactly the way I like. The location I used to get it from changed their recipe (I actually think it was house made but didn't like the new gravy) an d I am just SO happy to find it here.
The Won Ton soup was plentiful and was loaded with won tons. Mom was really happy!
The Crab Rangoon was light and crispy. Dad was happy as a lark. Really yummy!
Egg Rolls were also light and crispy and perfect.
The best part was that nothing tasted liked burnt oil as I have found with many other restaurants of late and I very much appreciate it!
One last thing I would like to mention is the speed in which my order arrived was pleasantly surprising. It took MAYBE 10 minutes (they were actually pretty busy as well) and it was ready AND more importantly...correct!
I would HIGHLY recommend China One in Meridianville and I thank them for taking pride in...
Read moreWe just moved to Meridianville and tried China One for the first time. All in all, we were very pleased. Service was excellent and the staff were friendly. Ordered crab Rangoon, vegetable lo mein, shrimp with steamed veggies, and General Tso's chicken with an egg roll. Everything was hot and tasted fresh. Hands down, the absolute best item we got was the lo mein. It was the best I've had in a long time. The crab Rangoon and egg roll were also excellent. The shrimp was great, too, but we loved the lo mein so much, we kind of forgot about the other dishes. The only thing that wasn't top notch was the Tso's chicken. The chicken was still fresh, perfectly cooked, and not chewy at all, but the flavor of the chicken wasn't what we were used to for General Tso's -- we're used to a little more spice in the flavor. That's probably just matter of personal taste/preference rather than anything the restaurant did. I'm not sure we'd get the General Tso's again, but we'll...
Read moreHole-in-the-wall Chinese place with your typical Americanized menu. Food came out slower than expected for a fast food style Chinese place. Mixed reviews on food. Moo Shu pork did not come with Hoisin sauce to make my wrap and they were confused when I asked. It had flavor but not enough to need the pancakes or rice, also, no mushrooms? Pancakes were well wrapped (and difficult to open). White rice was okay. Lunch boneless spare ribs had decent flavor, fried rice was bland and dry. Fried chicken wings were large (can easily be a meal), could use more flavor, but were pleasantly crispy. Confused because they definitely spoke Chinese, figured food would be more authentic, but should have left when I realized there was...
