FORT MORGAN SUPPER CLUB dined royally at the Coast Restaurant in Beach Club Condos on June 1, 2016. It is located directly on the beach on wonderful Fort Morgan Peninsula, and is truly an upscale facility with both Verandah and inside dining. The view is superb, as they are located on the second floor. Elevator service is right at the door. It is open 7 days a week for dinner only starting at 5:00 PM. They do take reservations, so our table was ready when we arrived. Our servers, Cheville and Lisa, were excellent. Beverage glasses were never empty, drink orders from the complete bar were just right, orders were never confused, bills were correct. Could not have done better. We had four wonderful appetizers from their extensive menu. Crab cakes, bacon wrapped pork tenderloin, jumbo grilled shrimp over slaw, and Ahi tuna seared to perfection. Comments on each appetizer, entree, and dessert are made by the members at the photos on the FORT MORGAN SUPPER CLUB Facebook page. We had 15 members tonight and were able to order nearly every entree on the menu. It was alacarte, so after the appetizers ,we missed out on most of the salads, but they were reasonably priced and sounded really good. Entrees ran from $18 for bacon wrapped pork tenderloin or Fettuccine Carbonara to the high end of aged 16 ounce ribeye for $40. In between was New York Strip $30, crab crusted redfish over grits $26, Gulf Coast Seafood linguine $32, fried flounder $22, Ahi tuna $29, free range chicken $26, and several others. They were all cooked perfectly, served with culinary precision, and not one negative comment was spoken Desserts included a three layer chocolate with fresh fruit, marinated sponge cake with raspberry sauce, and a chocolate mousse. WONDERFUL !! In summary Chef Hamme an award winning chef , manager Michael , and the entire staff made an indelibly favorable impression on EVERY ONE there. It is a revelation to know that this superb dining option is available to everyone from Spring Break through Fall, seven days a week, almost dead center on our little 18 mile stretch. We will all certainly be back often, as will you,...
Read moreWent to dinner at 5:40... thinking we would take advantage of happy hour. The restaurant AND bar donât open until 6. We had to go back to our Bristol lobby and wait 20 min to go back for dinner. Pretty certain this is not good customer service.
Going back for dinner ... to give them another shot ... update later
Went back at 6:00 (opening time) and ordered steamed royal reds w new potatoes, sausage and corn on the cob. First the pros The service was timely. My shrimp were delicious! Although they could have served more that 1-1/2 ounces of clarified butter for a full pound. Cons. The new potatoes and corn the cob were stone cold and the potatoes were so hard you couldnât cut them with a fork. I sent them both back only to received them nuked to warm. Corn now mushy. Potatoes still rock hard. In a side note we noticed all tables were being served a bread basket, we did not nor were we offered one.
All in all, the customer service was poor. The food was lacking and the ticket was over charged $5.00. (That was corrected after bringing it to their attention. )
The restaurant just reopened after being closed since October. (Opened Tuesday). I would say they have some work to do in the kitchen and with customer service starting g with a bar offering a happy hour for an upscale beachfront restaurant.
We are original owners of a condo for 20 years here at the Beach Club and have been regulars at this restaurant since it opened . We would like nothing more than to have a restaurant with great food and affordable prices that cater to whole families (not just adults).... I just think Coastal Restaurant has raised prices since last season and yet is lacking in quality and customer service. They need to step up their...
Read moreSo to start, I never write reviews so this should tell you how disappointing our experience was(and we didn't even dine in). The first night we arrived, we walked up and were greated with a confused, unwelcoming look where we had to start the conversation of "table for 2, please". The hostesses then told us we needed a reservation to dine in and then gave us no help of making one for another night or any information at all. So the next day we tried to make a reservation via phone and were greeted with an abrupt "it's a full service" and again no further help. The last hope was getting take-out, so we called in and asked to make a take-out order and the answer was "how big?". So this was the experience with poorly trained and managed hostesses and waitresses.
Now to the food..... we paid $36
