It may not be the worst service I've ever had but it ranks up there pretty high.
Re. - That reply is BS. It's a copy and paste because it's word for word like your response to the 1 star review below. And nobody is striving for anything at the Hideaway. There is nothing excellent about the service. It has actually steadily declined over the past year. Eaten there three times in a year. 1st time service was slow. 2nd time they were even slower, doubled up on our order, and she acted like they didnt want to be there. This time, after sitting at my table for maybe 15 minutes with zero service, I get up and go to the bar and ask the lady behind the bar for a half and half tea. I get it and sit back down. Waiter comes take my order about 5 minutes later. I'm almost out of tea. When I finish my order he goes over and gets a glass of tea, comes back, sits it down, and the glass had no ice in it, just hot tea. I ask, "Could I get some ice please?" He never returns. Another lady comes out with appetizer so I asked her for a cup of ice. She says ok but never returns. Over half way thru with the appetizer another young man shows up with the exact same appetizer. He says "Heres your appetizer." I said, "I have one right here." He said, "Did you order two?" I did not order 2 of the same appetizers but I have ordered ice from 2 people and never got any, so could you bring me a glass of ice please?" Some time passed and still no ice so I get up and get about half way to the bar to get ice and the waiter walks from another table, across the room to get my glass to get the ice. He actually brought it to my table. A few minutes later the younger gentleman shows up with the main meal and a glass of ice. By this time I had been in the place about 45 minutes. When I started eating the main meal I ran out of tea. Waiter never came back to my table. I got up walked over to the bar but there wasn't anyone behind the bar, no waiters/waitresses in the room, and I sit there at the bar waiting on someone to get me a glass of tea. Finally the waiter comes from the back kitchen and gets me some tea. I went back to my table and finished the meal and waited... and waited.... and waited... for my check. I get up, walk over to the lady that works the counter when you walk in and was trying to hand her some money. She looked at me like I was crazy. I told her that I need to pay for my meal so I could leave and I had been in there long enough. She went to the back and found the waiter, and come up and handed me a ticket, as I was getting my money out he walks off again, and I have to wait yet again, for him to return. The service at the Hideaway has been like that for a long time... some of the Spectrum...
Read moreI’m writing this review as I sit I this restaurant. Such a disappointment. We have been here over 2 hours and still do not have our food. We were told the wait was 30 minutes. My husband wanted to order a drink at the bar while we waited for a table and it took over 30 minutes for the very rude bartender to finally acknowledge and serve him. She over poured the whiskey and my margarita was the worst margarita I’ve ever had. After patiently waiting 1 hour, my husband asked the hostess where we were on the wait list and she pointed to a table and said it was ours after it was cleaned. We watched them clean it and we were never paged. After another 15 minutes and still no page from hostess, we sat ourselves. Took about 15 minutes for a frantic waitress to come to our table and tell us how busy she is with a large party outside but she took our drink order. I also ordered something off of the kids menu for my 3 year old at this time. Another 20 minutes later, she finally came back to our table for us to order. That was 15 minutes ago. Still waiting for my daughters food we ordered 45 minutes ago and still do not have any appetizers. I asked to speak to the manager and still have not had one come by. Do not waste your time with this place. I’ve never in my life experienced such...
Read moreAte here 2 nights since we were staying at The Beach Resort. Do not get seafood here. Its not fresh and tasteless. Had $9 gumbo, and $23 fish and chips. No flavor, way too much breading. Went back a second time later in the week solely for the convienence. Had wings which were edible at best with little flavor. The sauces were generic and not good. Had an appetizer of coconut shrimp which were ok but overpriced. My kids and wife had pizza. It came out cold and the sausage seemed to be some sort of invitation freezer burnt meat substitute, not good.
The owner and management need to take a closer look at the menu, how items are prepared, and where the food is coming from.
It would be nice if your paying $23 for fish and fries to receive a fresh catch with some homemade seasoned breading, not frozen pieces of generic junk.
Felt a little forced to eat here since we have 2 small kids and its close. Overall, food was terrible and extremely overpriced for what you get. Atmosphere is good and restaurant seemed clean. Plan ahead and drive the distance for some decent food. This is...
