I feel like this restaurant is way overrated, it is literally the only restaurant besides a sucky Mexican place across the street and a bar that’s ran by a crazy person, the food is good but way overpriced and it’s closed more than it’s open, they don’t even answer the phone the last hour to 45 minutes before they close, they have the monopoly on the area because of the location, when I started eating there the hot dogs were 2.50 and now they are 6.25, everything else had tripled or more, the reason I am giving this review is because as I was leaving today I heard a lady tell the cashier, an older blonde who is I think the owners mother, that her fries were soggy and she ask for crispy, as I’ve been doing the past few years because they absolutely suck otherwise, nobody likes soggy greasy fries, but the cashier ask her order number and she told her, the cashier argued with her and said no you didn’t ask for crispy because it’s not on the ticket, lol, like the food industry doesn’t ever make mistakes, but they stared each other down and the customer said well ok, and walked off, what ever happened to the customer is always right, within reason, this was doable, why not just fry hers more or give her a new order, God knows they charge enough money, but how rude of the cashier, no matter who owns the restaurant, makes me furious and it didn’t even happen to me, I wished they would get more competition so they wouldn’t act like they do, taking advantage of the customers in the area with rudeness and constantly raising...
Read moreBeen going to FAT MAN'S for years! It's a locally owned, multi generational, recipe passed down from son to son to son type situation where the current owner expanded the restaurant from a side road stop to the the very nice facility it is now. Since they remain a family owned and operated (to a degree as demand and the need for more and more work staff have grown and grown) who remain very attentive to quality and consistency their customers have become spoiled to a reliable, tasty and delicious treat every time they visit. Unlike the big chains the quality of food and serving size are what you would really like to have and not the processed junk you get from the big chains. They also offer an incredibly diverse menu for a local shop and I have NEVER had anything that was not FIRST CLASS! I raised my kids going there on weekends at the lake. Now I have the enjoyment of taking my grandchildren to enjoy a meal that is one that I am proud to provide them. I encourage you to try it for yourself and, if able, treat your family to a quality and wonderful meal in a very...
Read moreWe had a wonderful dinner at Fat Man's BBQ. My wife had to take me home in a wheelbarrow, haha; it's true to the name, I guess.
They have counter service and then you pick up your food when they call the number. They do not normally accept tips, so the price is the actual price here. That was something I haven't experienced in a while. The lady working the counter was very nice and helpful, even though I took a long time picking what I wanted from the menu (since I wanted everything).
The wings were A+. The best fried buffalo wings I've had in Alabama. They are cut & fried naked and tossed in a tangy mild buffalo sauce. Reminded me of back home.
Everything was delicious. The ribs pulled right off the bone. The pulled pork was so tender; you know it had to have smoked for hours and hours. The mac & cheese was so delicious, I couldn't stop eating it, which is how I ended up in this food coma.
This place is a real treat. I hope you...
