Ms. D's Restaurant — Restaurant in Alabama

Came in for lunch. I was handed a dirty grease stained piece of paper for a menu. We ordered fried pickles to start it has been over 40 minutes and this place is not busy. They pushed us to order a meal, I insisted we get our appetizers and try what they give us because it’s been a very long time. The tables wobble we put sugar packets under it. There is a strange sour and old food smell in dining area. We tried to pay for our drinks and leave because this isn’t right, waiting this long for something fried that takes a few minutes. They forced us to stay they dropped them in front of us in fryer, why did it take us saying we leaving for them to make our food? We also had to then pay for the pickles that are garbage and we didn’t want knowing we have to eat elsewhere. The whole restaurant top to bottom needs work. From staff to management to the rundown conditions. It took them 5 minutes just to move it to the to go box. Do not waste your time in this dive. On to another...

Had a first great experience a couple years ago. Decided to stop by again for some food. Service definitely isn't as friendly as it used to be. Just a bunch of grumpy people. Came in, saw the sign to see a waitress for seating, lady at the bar said there were tables in the next room and to go in there. We did. There was only one table available so we sat down. Waited 15 mins for one VERY RUDE waitress ask if it was just us 2. We said, "Yes." And she says, "Maybe you should wait for a smaller table like everyone else." It doesn’t get more down-home than this place but don’t be deterred! At 7:40 on a Tuesday night we received kind, prompt service from a fantastic young woman who made every effort to welcome and accommodate us. Our food was excellent. My preschooler and toddler children enjoyed their hot dogs; our family shared fries and onion rings (top 3 I’ve ever had, btw); my cheeseburger was amazing — high quality bun, exceptional-quality beef patty.
