There was only one server that had several different tables with more coming in, he did the best he could, he made sure he was serving customers in order by first , second etc as when they came in the restaurant, he was kinda slow but he was doing the best he could it was a very hot day and we wanted something to drink so bad and it took a good 15mins before we got something to drink, I feel when he sat us down he had time to fix us something to drink but he waited til our order and the patty melt and hash browns I got was so salty it was hard to eat as well as my friend that was with me, the waiter said the cook could cook us another one but they were so busy we didn't want to add more work to them as we could tell they were young and this was probably a first job or second job so we didn't want to add more stress to their day, the server stated that he wished he could take something off of our ticket bc the food was so salty we just got to go plates and I took it home to my sweet dog which I only gave her moderation over 3 days bc of how salty the food was. Service was ok and server was very nice and was doing the best he could in my opinion but the food wasn't good at all but the coke was delicious when we got refills but like I said server was very busy and was the only server there we did see 2 customers leave bc it was taking a while for the server to get to them, not his fault, I would probably visit here again bc of how nice the server Johnathan was he explained the situation of him being the only server & apologizing for it, so he made the visit a good one even with the not so fast service and food issue but with him explaining the situation and being very nice made me feel at ease and once some customers finished eating we did get more refills lol thanks Johnathan. Read moreIf I could leave a negative review, I would. First, our menus were stuck to the table with, I assume, syrup. But skipping a knife under it, was sufficient to pry it loose. Next we noticed the coffee pots…close to black. Looked like they had not been washed in months.
We sat there for quite while before being waited on….so long that I asked my wife if she wanted to go to Cracker Barrel nearby.
Eventually, we ordered food, including coffee. I am a fan of Waffle House, in part, because of the quick delivery of a quality breakfast. I order bacon, 2eggs, dry whole wheat toast, and coffee. My wife ordered the same except no toast.
We then waited for 25-minutes and I again asked my wife if she wanted to leave. We both seriously considered it.
The food arrived after a while. We both were questioning why did it take so long when the restaurant was just 1/3rd full and they had a full complement of staff behind the Counter, none of which looked especially busy.
5-min after the food, we finally received our coffee. While we asked for cream and sweetener, we had to ask a 2nd time. The server never refilled our cups…which we had emptied fairly quickly.
I waited tables for a long time. I always tip generously, especially in smaller establishments. A 30% tip is std for me at waffle houses as we travel. Today, I reluctantly tipped 5%. So sad for...
Read moreManagement REALLY needs to step in. Employees seemed oblivious that every rude comment and behavior is out in the open in front of customers. Our cook argued with EVERY employee while we were there. I never saw him wash hands or change gloves. Our waitress was new and honestly seemed to be trying but was untrained. Another customer had undercooked waffles. Charlie got another waitress to help her make new ones. How else is she to learn proper procedure? The other waitress complained the whole time right in front of the customer. Rude! The cook snapped on her when she called out orders and she seemed to try to keep her head down the rest of the time we were there to avoid more hostility. I have managed restaurants before. Charlie seemed to have good skills with little training and I believe she will be an asset to another employer after she leaves this hostile work environment. I would not work there and am questioning spending money there...
