Other than the atmosphere, service, and queso, this place disappointed, and there were several things we had an issue with. 1 - I ordered a quesadilla deluxe, which on the menu shows a picture of a quesadilla with onions and peppers and other ingredients. I received a quesadilla with shredded chicken and cheese with nothing else in it. Which brings me to my next point. The menu does not tell you it is shredded chicken. I would think a quesadilla this pricey ($17) would include grilled chicken, but again the menu does not clarify this. 2 - Drink glasses are very small. We were left with empty drink glasses a few times. I don't understand why restaurants do this, all you are doing is causing your customers to have empty glasses more often than not, and causing your servers to have to make multiple trips to fill up glasses. 3 - I ordered an unsweet tea, and my wife ordered a Diet Pepsi. The unsweet tea was not very good, so when the waitress came back to fill up our drinks, I asked if I could switch to Diet Pepsi. When we received our bill, they tried to charge me for an additional drink. Although they took the charge off, I should not have had to ask for this to be removed. 4 - I almost missed this, but thanks to several other reviews I read before posting mine, I discovered we were charged an addition fee for using a credit card. Seems very sneaky to try and put a charge on someone's bill like this without disclosing it first. Had we known there was a fee, we could have paid in cash. 5 - We ordered the appetizer trio, which included the street corn dip, queso, and guacamole. While the queso was some of the best we ever had, and the street corn dip was good, the guacamole was very bland, and needed salt, badly. 6 - There is no salt, pepper, hot sauce, sugar packets, or any other condiments on the tables. I really wanted to like this place, as we love going to Mexican restaurants, but unfortunately this place was a...
Read moreTABLE SIDE GUACAMOLE!!! We brought the whole family, even our pickiest eaters. There were fabulous dishes available for everyone! To start with, the table side guacamole is a must for any chips and guacamole fans. It tasted like it was put together with the freshest ingredients, was mixed very well, had just the right amount of heat we asked for, was a treat for the kids to watch. I have been let down in the past by table side guacamole but this one is above the average I have ever had. For dinner we had fish taco dish, chili relleno dish, tortilla soup dish, and the pickiest kids had cheeseburger. The fish tacos were fantastic. Had the grilled option and was not let down. The tacos were dressed with the perfect amount so that they could be picked up and not spill out all the contents. Every bite was flavorful with the toppings being evenly spread out in each one. The tortilla they were served on were very good and added to the flavor very nicely. The chili relleno was also very good. We added tortillas, as suggested by our waitress, and that was definitely a great addition. The tortilla soup was also very good. Was a little skeptical at first as we have not had tortillas in a soup before but wow was that something we have been missing. The kids enjoyed the cheeseburgers and fries, not much to say there other than we appreciate that being an option on the menu so that the rest of us could eat great food without dealing with the complainers. Overall we seem to have stumbled upon a gem of a Mexican restaurant in our backyard. Never noticed this one before, not sure how long they have been open for, but we really hope it lasts for a very long time! We will definitely be doing our part to be sure that...
Read moreThis New Mexican restaurant really took me by surprise! My husband and I went to the soft opening with the intentions of just grabbing a beer while browsing the menu, just to check it out. Both of us are VERY picky when it comes to Mexican cuisine. I love flavor and spice and he loves flavor and spice in a mild way. Let me start off by saying that the super spicy salsa is probably the best salsa in town! It’s perfectly balanced with its intense heat and amazing flavors. The regular table salsa tastes like any other regular mild salsa. Any Mexican restaurant that I go to, my first impression of the place starts with the salsa. I have stopped going to certain Mexican restaurants near here, just because their salsa sucked and lacked flavor. I’ve also become a loyal repeat customer to a certain Mexican restaurant near here because of their salsa. But, Casa Mexico Restaurant is now my new, “Go to” spot! Not only is the super spicy salsa amazing, the food was just as flavorful! The meat was seasoned and cooked to perfection! The portions were amazing and the presentation was thoughtful. You can tell that the owner has passion and love for Mexican cuisine. The only downside is I prefer draft beer over bottle and they do not have any drafts. They do make up for that with the passion they have in their mixed drinks. My husband LOVES old fashions and No One in town makes a proper old fashion. By our surprise, not only does Casa Mexico make a proper old fashion, they got creative and made it with tequila and man oh man….. it was smooth and...
