Not a pleasant experience. The waitress started off being very nice when taking our orders, so I trusted her recommending the salmon over the burrata salad. Unfortunately the salmon was way too dry (sides were ok though) and I couldn't finish all of it. There were some other issues with the steak and undercooked fries for my friends as well. We told the waitress about it when asking for the check, she didn't comment. But when she came back she brought a message from the kitchen, that all food was prepared at the temperatures they were orded (I wasn't even asked how I wanted the salmon), and that next time, we should maybe order everything more rare. Serving the food as it was seemed unfortunate, but then blaming it on the customer was a little much. Wouldn't recommend - especially for the price.

Went for a quick bite. Seated right away near the windows. Small place with friendly staffs. We were intrigued by the halibut melt so we ordered with the seafood soup. The food came 20 minutes and the melt just looks like tuna sandwich but I was blown away with the juicy, perfectly seasoned fish and the soft bun (that I thought would be too dence but was wrong again). The soup was good but the melt was the star of this meal. The pizzas for dinner by the fire was also great! Nice thin crust with just enough bread on the edge if you want some great chewy bread. Well prepared pizzas.

I have lived in AK for years, but I had never been to Aurora Bar and Grill until today. I will definitely be back! The lunch menu is great and the food was out of this world. Dad and I ordered the Portobello Sandwich and the Dijon Chicken Club. Both sandwiches were top notch but the Portobello Sandwich was the best I have ever had. Portions were large, the prices were very reasonable and the view of the mountain, trams, and the lodge were good too. The table next to us ordered pizzas and I will definitely be checking those out in the future!!

Our server made our experience at Aurora Bar and Grill miserable! We had just lost a family member and were out celebrating an anniversary upon their wishes in Girdwood. We drove from the valley and had people fly in. Get to the restaurant where there’s only one other table seated in the area. Requested to put 2 4 top tables together which would easily connect by the window (which was available). Told us absolutely not he wasn’t allowing that and sat 6 adults at a table with 5 chairs, told us he’d squeeze in a chair to make it work. It was uncomfortable and tight so we suggested to the server we’d just sit separately at two different tables and break up the group. Since we couldn’t be a family together comfortably. Drinks were delayed (could see them made and ready) and items from the meal were forgot (once mentioned he said it would take 10 seconds) and brought at the end. When paying he charged us the group gratuity since we were there together yet we felt it wasn’t acceptable since he wouldn’t allow us to put our tables as one. Whole experience was uncalled for and very unprofessional. I’ve been going to Alyeska since I was 3, we chose this place to mourn the loss of a loved one, enjoy the view and come together as a family. If I could give 0 stars I would. The one star displayed will be credited and given to the bartender for checking on our tables and suggesting sides/sauces...

We were so very disappointed as we have enjoyed so many weekend buffets at The Pond. We also enjoyed our `a la carte breakfast the other day and have enjoyed many delicious dinners over the years at the Aurora. We, however, recommend staying away from the weekend breakfast buffet. For the elevated price of the buffet, we were offered limited selections which were cold. Our son even had difficulty eating his french toast even with his knife. We had asked for the regular menu, but was told it is not available on weekends. This had not been our experience at The Pond, which I think is a mistake on Aurora's part. We understand about the current renovation and that this is a makeshift solution, but if you cannot deliver an elevated experience, then you shouldn't charge the elevated prices. This is our sixth year vacationing in Girdwood and although this is the first year we are not staying at the Alyeska Hotel, we still like to patronize its amenities. It is important to note that the wait staff is always a pleasure with several...
