I never write reviews.. if i could rate 0 stars I would. At about 12:30 am my boyfriend and I arrive at chair 5, his ID is expired so they insist he leaves. OK, fair enough. We were staying at the Alyeska Resort so we were waiting for the complimentary shuttle to pick us up, before it picks us up (takes about 30 min) the bartender insists my boyfriend leaves the bar. I’m astounded and angry at this point, how is it acceptable to kick someone outside in NEGATIVE FIVE degree weather? Once the bartender and I argue about how it’s not okay for her to kick him out into the cold, she and another bartender push us both out into -5 degree weather. We are defeated and cold. Whatever, the shuttle will be here soon, right? But no, when were waiting for the shuttle in the freezing cold, the bartender from chair 5 forces us off the premises, “otherwise they will call the police”.Long story short we had to wait in freezing temperatures for over 30 minutes before a ride to the hotel and was threatened to have the cops called because I tried to refuse to stand in the cold before we left, again, this all because of an expired ID- AND, we were more than willing to leave when the ID wasn’t accepted, just had to wait for the shuttle, but was instead forced off the premises and had to wait a street away for the shuttle, just to chase it down once it did arrive. 0/10 recommendation. There are plenty of horrible reviews of this restaurant- for...
Read moreI have heard good things in the past about Chair 5 and I was excited to try them out. We were sat down, we were told that the kitchen was behind a few minutes. A few minutes was a huge understatement. It took 15 minutes before our waitress finally greeted us and took our order. There was a very large group of people that were here as well so we tried to give them some slack. But it took an additional 15 minutes for a side salad to come out and 45 for our appetizer of crab cakes! After the large group of people left, there was one woman just sitting in the corner folding up utensils, not helping the other waiters, and looking lost. After an hour and a half, our food finally came out and it was a disappointment. I got the jalepeño burger and my patty was overcooked and inedible. My boyfriend got the mushroom and Swiss burger and it was way too salty. My sister got the halibut fish and chips and the fries were over cooked and she had a hair on her plate. We would have given them some slack because we knew it was busy however, there were just so many workers just standing around not doing anything. We watched our food sit at the pass for over 5 minutes before anyone bothered to bring it over to our table. I hate writing bad reviews but it wasn’t just us experiencing this awful of service. We watched multiple tables send back food because of either incorrect orders or inedible food. We don’t plan...
Read moreI feel like I have had a different experience from the other people that have been here. The food has always been fantastic(I’ve been there 4 times) but I feel I’ve never had great service. I remember once I got an especially spicy burger that had fresh jalapeños that had quite a kick and I had already finished my beer. The server did not loop around and see that I had an empty cup and ask if I wanted another beer, which I really could have used. I ended up getting a box for that burger so I could eat the rest later. I’d also like to add that I was lucky that I was sat next to the server station because I was given very few napkins that I ran out of quickly. I ended up getting my own napkins because no one checked up on me to see if we needed anything. The only other interaction past getting my food was getting the check and asking for a box. It seems like many other people have experience great service here so I will not ding Chair 5 for that, giving them the benefit of the doubt that I was just there on off days. (2 of the 4 times I went here there was live music so I feel it’s hard for a server to be attentive in that situation) All in all, a great place to eat! I will visit again and it is certainly worth stopping into if...
