I have no idea why this place is rated a 3. It was brought to our attention that a patron who was refused service due to alcohol intoxication was disgruntled and started to spam them with 1 star review (you can see it was around the same time 7 months ago.) Also, the staff at Hightower Pub were told to bash this establishment and spread rumors about the staff in attempts to sabotage their business. It’s really sad. I wouldn’t trust any of those reviews from 7 months ago that only have one review on their profile.
The food and service are fantastic. The prices do feel higher, but post Covid times do that. Restaurants cannot survive without raising prices.
The atmosphere is laid back and beautiful. I’m a picky, well traveled foodie and recommend this place to all of my friends who come out to Girdwood. The owner, Alexandra takes pride in her restaurant and staff, she makes it very apparent that she was grateful to make it through Covid times and to survive in this industry. I would highly recommend this place, don’t let the bad reviews keep you away.
I have been here several times and do not have a personal relationship with the owner. This is an unpaid review of a place that I really enjoy going to and hate to see bashed on by immature people abusing...
Read moreWhat a terrible experience. Spoonline Bistro in Girdwood is by far one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in all of Alaska. The food is not worth even half the prices listed on the menu, staff and female owner are shockingly rude, ill-intenioned and insulting to customers. The entire vibe is very unfriendly, unorganized and chaotic. The servers were openly bickering with each other and with customers. Aweful. The place was a mess, very dirty for an establishment charging these kinds of prices. I ordered the steak and it was way too overcooked. And everything else on the plates was way too undercooked. To make matters worse, there was hair in my food and a dead bug stuck to the side of my plate. Gross and of course unappetizing. Nobody who works here seems to care about anybody or anything but themselves. They certainly don't put any effort into attempting to serve good food and provide good customer service. This place is likely to be shut down soon for multiple violations - if they don't run off all of their customers first with their F- rated service. Highly recommend you and anyone you care about to stay far, far away from Spoonline Bistro in Girdwood, Alaska. Go anywhere...
Read moreNice small restaurant. We went for dinner at 5pm right when they opened and it wasn’t busy and parking wasn’t too impossible. The wait staff is extremely friendly. Setting is very cozy. There is outdoor sitting outdoor as well. We had the asparagus wrapped in Prosciutto and it was delicious. It comes with a sauce you’ll die for. The caesar salads were like a wedge salad and needed more dressing but that was fine. We got more dressing with no issue. We had the house pasta special of the day and it was so good. I definitely recommend having the pasta if they have it when you go. I got it with scallops. Way over my expectations as far as taste!! It costed $20 as an add on but there was 4 so $5 a scallop. Also having was the rib eye. Tender, juicy, and wonderful. The sauce could be a tad reworked but good. Lastly, we had the cherry tart. Just perfect to finish off the meal. This could be for one person but if you’re not that hungry, share it. There is an almond crust.
Do try this place out. It’s cozy, it’s friendly, and most importantly, delicious! Check out the menu (as...
