Went here for what I would call a soft opening. It is still a work in progress. Currently they are serving Cafe items. The owner is very kind and immediately offered to make us anything we wanted with a bit of notice. Their butter pretzels are very authentic German pretzels. They taste even better with the home made mustard dip (a must have, I bought a big jar for home). The Frikadellen are also authentic German along with the Brötchen (seriously, I mean REAL authentic German food). The owner made us fresh Spätzle which reminded me of my mother's. It came with a cheese sauce which I would have preferred regular shredded cheese that's gooey. The Spezi was the real deal and their coffee is really good even though it is drip coffee which I usually loath. We will be back, God willing, and are looking forward to the menu expanding. Please consider putting Kaiserschmarrn With Pflaumenkompott...
Read moreIf heaven had a taste I would imagine it be like this Jaeger Schnitzel I had today. It transports me back to Amberg Germany. I believe once this place has frosty beers to pair with the sausage sample tray and delicious homemade mustard... it will be one one of the top restaurants in Palmer (and even the Valley). I look forward to sampling more of their tasty delights.
This is a must try if you are local and tourists alike. Also, I must mention they have a local roasted coffee you can add two scoops of their homemade Bavarian cream ice cream to for an iced coffee!
I also learned they make their own cheeses, sausages, mustards, teas, roast coffee and ice cream. I’m blown away by the quality and heart the owner and team put into everything they serve.
Enjoy and you can thank me later for this...
Read moreI went with my Aunt to Edelweiss this week after they had put out the new menus and it was a real treat. Home made mustard with dry pretzels to start, a good balance between the sweet and complex hot flavors. After a pleasant chat with our waitress both my Aunt and myself ordered the Jaeger Schnitzel (I think I spelled that correctly), with a variety of sides. Mine came with two different hot potato salads, hers with speitzel (again, hopefully I got that right) and a red cabbage salad. After the meal we tucked into woodruff gelato and a Bavarian cream parfait. Excellent service, excellent food and lovingly prepared sweets to end the meal. Best Bavarian cream (what most people would think of as a custard) of my life. Would...
