Kaladi Brothers Coffee — Restaurant in Alaska

Definitely a mixed impression. The coffee shop is inviting and popular; but, the 'operation' is problematical. I'm not a local; therefore, I might not be a fair judge. Usually, normal coffee is hot enough; but, here I need to specify 'extra hot'. I ordered soup 'extra hot'; but, it actually arrived 'refrigerator cold' because of a glitch. The soup was great and hot, when it arrived 2 hours later. Today, I ordered a latte and coffee cake, both extra hot (so that I could eat them together, 'warm'). The cake came right away, and was both warm and delicious. The latte was forgotten, and came 1/2 hour, later. What was left of the cake was cold; but the coffee was warm! The best I can say, in summary, is that the service is OK if you have a lot of time and order and consume one-thing-at-a-time. The staff is 'nice'; but, doesn't seem to grasp the concept of...

I have lived in Jewel Lake for 13 years and Alaska for 18..I tried extremely hard to like this Jewel Lake kaladi brothers...it was ok in the beginning but has taking a sharp turn downward. Anyone who knows kaladis from before covid or before Starbucks arrived...it was the #1 spot with the most spectacular customer service. It was special and in most stores its still great just not Jewel Lake. The attitude problems are extremely bad...customer service is non existence...and most don't know how to make a decent cup of coffee. I called corporate after years of buying coffee that sucked. They said oh yea, that store we have had issues with for a long time...kinda of like a odd cousin of...

I'll admit right now I'm biased. This is my neighborhood haunt and I frequent Kaladi regularly. For those familiar with Kaladi coffee you might say oh, it's just another Kaladi, but it isn't. The staff at the counter take care of you like none other. Try the natural vanilla or coconut in your latte. I wouldn't even have known about them if the gals at the counter hadn't recommended them to me. They give a deeper flavor and richness to your coffee. The staff's generosity of spirit is one of the reasons why I choose to go here, also for their large second level which has a semi-private conference room if you need it....
