I will never eat at a Wendy's in Alaska again. In high school I worked at a Wendy's in California that was well managed and while it wasn't for very long, I have fond memories of the positive environment, quality of food and overall efficiency. I have now been in Alaska going on 20 years and for at least the past 10 years, my experience at these Wendy's locations, have been much much less than ideal. While the food quality has always been pretty good, and better than good for fast food, the service is the worst I have ever experienced...literally anywhere...and the staff is consistent on being the worst. I typically only go every 3-4 months because of how long it takes and the staff clearly has zero S*s to give. However, tonight was a whole other level of frustrating. On my way home from a 16 hour day at work where i smile and appreciate my customers, I made the mistake of passing Taco Bell on Tudor and then made the second mistake of getting in line at Wendy's when i saw half a dozen cars. At the time I got in line, it was 11:20 and according to their posted hours, they don't close until midnight. The cars where progressing through the drive through in the typical Wendy's fashion of about 3-4 minutes per car, I figured it is what it is and there are only a couple more cars in front of me. It would take longer to go back to Taco Bell at this point so I'll wait. I get to my turn and I wait...and I wait...and I wait. After about 3 minutes the lights turn off in the dining room. It's 11:42. I holler at the box. No answer. I holler again. Same. I start pulling forward some and I seen a person at the cash register cleaning up so i decide to pull forward to the window. I paused for a second, she makes eye contact and mouths "were closed" and hastefully walked away. And that was it, I drove off hungry after waiting 22 minutes in line, tired and grouch after working 16 hours and because of this experience, I will never come back...in Alaska. Lets be real, Wendy's is bomb and they deserve my business when i am on vacation, but not here. On a really serious note for the franchise owner, as a customer, I come with the sole intention of giving you my business in exchange for goods. Basic economics. Because of that business, you are able to pay the utilities, pay your insurance, pay the mortgage, pay your employees and hopefully turn a bit of a profit for you and your family. This isn't about closing early, for all i know, there was a very good reason and it isn't my business. It's about wasting your customers time, taking steps to post a sign at the box or on the menu board or having an employee telling customers on the intercom that they are closed, anything other than making them wait confused for someone that isn't coming. Customers are the reason your doors are open and employees are able to provide for themselves and families. its absolutely disgusting that the current methods of thanking your customers is to completely disregard them, and not just what happened tonight. Your staff is consistently bothered by the presence of your customers. You can't possibly sustain a business where customers are an inconvenience. Good luck and I hope someday things change, until then...
Read moreThe Wendy's on Tudor used to be my go-to place from 2017-2019 because of incredibly fast service, good food, and fantastic staff. It would have been a 5/5 bomb all day every day.
In present time, I find it to be incredibly lackluster. The service and food may be acceptable to some, but I know how it used to be several years ago.
Now, the drive thru is always stacked with cars, I sat in the drive thru for over twenty (20) minutes today, only to met by a young man on the speaker who clearly sounded like he didn't want to be there, haphazardly taking my order, asking me to repeat multiple times over.
I ordered a Frosty-ccino and an order of 10 nuggets. The nuggets were warm, tasty, and felt like they were fresh and juicy. Additionally, they gave me a very wealthy amount of honey mustard dipping sauce, which I appreciate as many fast food joints will supply you with exactly one or two for every 10 nuggets. The nuggets and sauce is what bumps this review up to a three star, rather than a two star.
The Frosty-ccino is what brings this review back to a two star. The consistency of the Frosty-ccino everytime I visit this location changes. Some mornings, it's a fantastic cold brew goodness, with a mixture of the nice, sweet, creamy goodness that we love and appreciate in Lattes. Other mornings, I might as well have gotten a normal cold brew, as there is under half a shot of the nice Frosty cream, leaving it to be an uninspiring and colorless concoction of would-be Frosty.
All-in-all, please restore this location to it's former glory. Rather it be training the managers, or supplying staff with quality of life improvements, that will encourage them to want to work there, and improve the consistency of the experience of frequent customers. I'll continue to go here, but this review is a portion of the heartache I feel every time I come...
Read moreAfter my recent experience and reading the reviews, I truly believe anyone giving this Wendy’s 5 stars is lying. I read reviews that said they are prone to closing 1-2 hours early or that they were told they close at 11:00 instead of 12:00. That comment is 100% accurate.
I ordered on the mobile app a quarter till 10:00pm. I got to Wendy’s around 10:05pm just to find out they were closed. I pulled up to the window and the guy in the store said old me I could cancel my order on the app and they were closed. As I drove off I could see 2 other employees playing around in the back and smoking
The night shift employees seem like they don’t want to work. They would rather close early and play around so they can stay on the clock and steal money from the company than actually be honest working employees. If anyone wants to know why there’s a workers shortage, it’s because company’s hire children with zero work ethic who end up pushing hard working employees out.
I blame this stores manager for being incapable of holding their workers accountable and making necessary changes to turn the establishment around. These “new gen” employees should be grateful I no longer am a manager since becoming a stay at home mom, because the late nights I would spend with these lazy employees making sure they were working for their pay would be just enough to get them out of the job leaving more room for employees who actually want to learn and grow.
I have done a fair amount of firing in my past and what I saw today would result in immediate termination. Hope they can upgrade management so this place can get the changes it needs and can give the customers the quality...
