I recently had the pleasure of discovering Jessi's Indian Kitchen in Albany, GA, and I must say it was an absolute delight to experience the flavors of India in a convenient drive-thru setting. As the only drive-thru Indian restaurant in the area, Jessi's stands out as a hidden gem, offering an array of authentic dishes without compromising taste or quality.
Navigating the bustling Albany dining scene, finding a drive-thru option that brings such diverse and exotic flavors to our fingertips is refreshing. Despite the limitations of a drive-thru setup, Jessi's Indian Kitchen maintains the authenticity and rich flavors of traditional Indian cuisine.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of the menu options available at Jessi's. I had the opportunity to try their signature Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Shrimp Curry, each of which was a burst of authentic Indian flavors. The Butter Chicken was succulent and perfectly balanced, while the Chicken Tikka Masala delighted my taste buds with its tantalizing spices. The Shrimp Curry was a true standout, with plump and tender shrimp swimming in a rich, aromatic sauce.
Accompanying the main dishes, I ordered Lemon Rice with cashews, roasted chilies, and Butter Naan and Garlic Naan. Despite being served through a drive-thru, the food was fresh, piping hot, and delivered with care. The Lemon Rice added a tangy and refreshing element to the meal, while the naan bread was soft, fluffy, and infused with delightful flavors.
To complete my culinary journey, I couldn't resist trying the desserts available at Jessi's Indian Kitchen. The Rus Malai provided a creamy and indulgent experience without overwhelming sweetness. Additionally, the Mango Fusion dessert was a refreshing delight, offering a tropical blend of mangoes, bananas, and grapes that perfectly ended my meal.
Despite the limitations of a drive-thru format, the staff at Jessi's Indian Kitchen displayed exceptional customer service and efficiency. They ensured that my order was accurate and promptly delivered, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable.
In conclusion, Jessi's Indian Kitchen in Albany, GA, provides an unparalleled opportunity to savor the authentic flavors of India in a convenient drive-thru setting. Ā Ā Ā Read moreTry this Indian restaurant in Albany, Georgia. Itās a small, authentic taste restaurant across from Albany State West campus on Gillionville. I pass by here often, but I never can tell if they are open. Looking up food near, this place popped up and they are open. Maybe itās because I donāt see, many people there and Iām not sure if they have a parking lot, inside dining or if this is only a drive-through, nevertheless on to the food review.
The prices were great, the food was good, portion was fair, but hereās why I dropped a star. At no fault of thereās, I am particularly not a fan of Curry. Of the meat options they have, I only preferred the lamb and without Curry so there was maybe one option for me. I know Curry is authentic to their culture and I should expect that. My wife ordered it so Iām giving the review. I wanted to try the okra but forgot to order it.
The cabbage tasted really good. Like homemade southern cabbage. The cabbage is a star.
Garlic naan bread was really good and soft. The beans in the picture are not from this restaurant, I added it from leftovers to help fill the meal out since I forgot to order the okra.
Vegetable Samosa with sauce was fair. Nothing to brag, itās fair-no issues.
Plain rice is just what it is. Order the other rice options if you want more but typically with flavorful saucy meats, white rice is a good balance. It was cooked well.
The lamb curry was decent. It filled the hunger pains and the sauce has flavor. The meat had a good quality taste to it. When rewarming in the house, the Curry smell overpowers the house. It smelled like their kitchen in my house. Thatās a great sign of seasoning, I just donāt like curry smell. Shouldāve ordered the potato spinach-looked good.
This four star review is really a personal situation so if you like Curry, Indian food, chicken, goat, lamb then this place could be easily a five star for you. When I come back to this place, Iād probably order the same thing, plus okra and potato spinach. nothing I had didnāt taste good, I just wanted more for me on the menu, but that is a tall ask for a small restaurant. Iām actually giving them credit for doing quality authentic food in a small location in Albany Georgia. Maybe more road signs or yard attractions with open now signs could...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJesses Indian kitchen is such an incredibly talented restaurant who really knows how to cook your classic Indian favorites. Their butter garlic chicken is SO GOOD. My wife got the butter chicken with white rice. Delicious, I got the chicken fried rice w vegetables. Wow I cannot explain how good that was, the portion was 100% for me! The wife concluded the best recipe would be to gather the two meals into a large bowl(after we tried everything seperately. Wow it was so good. The fried rice w chicken was exactly as youād imagine Indian fried rice with chicken would taste however, combined with the butter chicken- NEXT LEVEL. This meal literally had us questioning if this is the new BARE MINIMUM because Iām sad Iām not a local. The best part of the whole entire meal was their garlic naan bread. It was a little soggy, but this naan bread was so utterly delicious I saved it for last.
The next and last treat was the mango fusion. I was skeptical but my wife wanted it and it wasnāt super expensive so I said what the heck. Itās basically LIKE a mango yogurt with mango cubes in it. It was so good, the wife ended up giving a great idea- add chia seed. We thought of it late but Iām letting the chia seeds sit in the fusion for 15 minutes then it doesnāt stand a chance.
Iāll be back before I leave on Sunday, but Iām so glad I read the reviews. The wife and I are Indian cuisine fanatics and this is our new top favorite! Whenever weāre back in Georgia weāll make sure we stop by even if itās out of the way.
One thing I could recommend and I believe it would make this gem POP. Put some picnic tables outside! The weather was so nice and it would have been great to sit outside. I guess it would add another task to clean up the trash so maybe itās a terrible idea, but as we were waiting in the drive through we really wished we could have just sat down and enjoyed the food. The place looks empty at least when we went however when we were in line people were coming and going. Such a...
