This is one of the hidden gems of Stanly County. It's a really tiny hole in the wall. To my knowledge I've never seen them advertised. Parking is in a gravel and dirt lot across the road. And you're always going to see a line out the door.
That's because the food is great, the service is great, and people love going there. If you come by, plan on having to wait 5 or 10 minutes to get a seat. Doesn't matter what time of day it is. Doesn't matter what day of the week it is. You're probably going to have to wait 5 or 10 minutes to get a seat. And that's okay. The food is worth it!
They cycle tables pretty quickly, so you really shouldn't be waiting more than a few minutes. It's owned by a local lady who works there every day. You'll often see her behind a cash register. She's the pretty lady with the straight brown hair.
Is it a five-star Michelin restaurant? No. It's good old Southern American breakfast food, and it's good every single time. I've never had a bad day in there. I've never had an off day. The food is good each and every single time. That's all you can ask for! That's why there's a line out the door!
Go check them out sometime and tell em...
Read moreI made the mistake of not noticing cash only so walked over to the gas station to get money out of the ATM to cover my meal. I don't think there's a warning on the door that they don't accept cards.
Eggs were classic, hashbrowns seemed like rehydrated potato type (which I love), pecan waffle was so good with the liquid butter at the table, and syrup. The bacon was a bit too salty but was good when eaten in the same bite as other food.
Service was great (except the cash issue). I understand that restaurants want to save money by not paying credit card fees. But why not just build it into the general price of everything like other restaurants?
The price was a bit steep for it not being a chain restaurant or a fancy new building. I know inflation has changed prices, but it still seems way higher than the price for the same meal at...
Read moreThe last time I ate here I was a teenager. Don't ask how long ago that was! I moved away and that is why I hadn't been back. The food is still delicious! I met a friend for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Thankfully she had us a table before I arrived because customers were lined out the door at 9am! If that doesn't tell you something I don't know what does! I ordered eggs over easy, bacon, grits and toast. Everything was cooked to perfection and it was a plate full! It is not a huge place but well worth the wait to eat there. I will be returning again in the very near future! I promise you will not be disappounted if you choose to eat at the...
