The Taco King 1 — Restaurant in Albert Lea

Tried this place while in town for work. It was pretty good! Went in after a group of people, so there was a bit of a line to wait in. But I like how they have images of their dishes on the wall for you to look at and pick what you want (because yes, I am the type that has zero idea what the difference is between an enchilada and burrito and chimichanga). Food is made to order, so its hot and fresh. Staff was very nice and welcoming, clearly knew what they were doing so everything came out as anticipated. The restaurant is small, but was able to get a table, no problem. They even had tables outside which is nice. Though, it was in the upper 80's and humid, so eating a hot taco (or burrito?) outside was not on my list of things I wanted to do that day. Taco King was very fast, friendly, and affordable. Very, very clean, which makes any dining experience for me an automatic 3 star, and the food and the staff makes it a 5 star eatery. We were on a road trip from South Dakota to Minneapolis, and Albert Lea is a good stopping point for us. Taco King is very easy to get to if you are on the interstate. Ordered their "supreme" burrito in hopes that it would be a more than filling meal. Boy was I wrong. The burrito was honestly smaller than any frozen food burrito and the quality was about the same too. For $12+ for the burrito and a drink I was expecting more, if not in quantity then at least quality. If your looking for good Mexican food you'll have better luck going to the local taco Johns than finding it here. Don't waste your time...
