Today was my first visit to the Villager Restaurant, and after reading the great reviews posted for it I was certain I would be having a positive dining experience. The restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere and our waitress couldn't have been better. The sunflower toast was very good - as it was well praised in the reviews. The main reason for my visit was to experience their much bragged about Sausage, Biscuits & Gravy Breakfast. I must have gone on the wrong day (being a weekday - vs. a weekend morning when there may have been a better turnover with fresher food). After all, this dish was a favorite and recommended by many of the previous patrons... My plate arrived with GLOBS of room - temperature, separating gravy dumped on biscuits on a plate. Gross!! But I thought maybe it would taste better than it looked..... It didn't. Words cannot express my disappointment. I can't believe I had to pay for that disgusting abortion of a meal. All the chatter and Amy's wonderful laugh was missing, replaced by dead silence. My sincere hope is that Bob can stop by and teach them...

Other reviewers loved the biscuits and gravy, I wasn't impressed with that, so take your chances. 5 stars though for the rest of our meals. Sausage and bacon are local and amazing. French toast is made with bread made on site and was fabulous! We bought multiple loaves to bring home, my raisin bread is fabulous. I ordered pecan pancakes the second day we were in town and was debating about 2 or 3, we were hiking all day, so I wanted a big breakfast. The waitress very definitively told me to get two. The two pancakes overflowed my plate and were enough...
