Stopped by the Coffee Pot on recommendation from my nephew who lives in Alexandria for lunch. Both he and my sister ordered breakfast which they said was very good. Had a range of eggs, biscuits, hash browns and toast. I had a lunch of homemade chicken noodle soup and hot roast beef and mashed potatoes. The soup was delicious with large and thick noodles, fresh carrots and big chunks of chicken. For the hot roast beef the gravy was flavorful and beef plentiful on the sandwich. However, the temperature was very unequal. Part of the sandwich was very hot but a few bites over and it was a tad cooler. Would assume it had something to do with their heat lamps or microwave not equally heating the food. Wasn't a risk of being unsafe but from a quality perspective I want a dinner evenly heated. I stopped in at the Coffee Pot based on a couple of Yelp reviews that were favorable. This was my first time using Yelp to find a restaurant.
This place has good service with an edge (intentionally snippy but funny waitstaff), and the food was excellent.

My niece ordered the pancakes, which were a stack of plate-sized pancakes. She only finished about 1/4 of the stack, and I had pancake leftovers for two more breakfasts!
In all, we enjoyed the experience, atmosphere, and the portions. If you ever need to stop in Alex for breakfast, this is the...
Read moreWaitress was kind and knowledgeable. Table was well organized. Salt and pepper shakers were regularly cleaned. Cups and silverware were clean. Smelled overwhelmingly like old lady perfume thanks to the couple behind us. Reminded me of my late grandmother. So I was nostalgically nauseated before my food arrived. Which wasn't long. In fact, I was rather alarmed by how quickly our food arrived but it was absolutely delicious and most importantly, our order was spot on. Couldn't be happier with the experience. Relatively cheap for the amount of food we recieved. I ordered the Big Boy Breakfast and my girlfriend ordered Eggs Benedict. My only regret is that we hadn't tried the place out sooner. Made North Woods look like a dumpster fire. 5/5 Definitely...
