Sunday, March 19th. Usually my Sundays end up being pretty bleak for myself, so I always end up indulging myself with going out to eat somewhere to have some form of entertainment in my day. Today, like many of my days I chose Dairy Queen as I originally wanted Culver’s, but unfortunately so did the entire town after their church activities. I chose Dairy Queen as my second option as I didn’t feel like the unnecessary grease of McDonald’s, a cold sandwich, or whatever Hardee’s and Arby’s serve. As I was going to park I noticed there was an increased number of people in the drive thru and parked to presumably be eating inside, and I would later see that the lobby had a very fair amount of tables filled and also had a line for people waiting to get their order taken. This had prompted a state of fear and worry in myself as I had concerns that it would take an extended period of time to receive my food. I finally had the chance to order and my brother and I opted for two of the tenders and fry rings basket, and would later purchase a snickers and s’mores blizzard to finish our meal off. We filled our drinks and I think I was seated for a whopping 45 seconds before I heard my name being called out. A feeling of excitement and hunger immediately filled my body, I hadn’t had this wonderful food in forever so I was beyond excited to taste it again. The fries were magnificent as expected, hot fresh and I only had one that tasted like a lady bug. The tenders were also delicious, hot and fresh. A bit too hot for my enjoyment at first but nothing that some time and patience can’t fix. The toast was average, I’ve certainly had better here but the toast is always a bit of a coin toss with the quality of it, but just about always good regardless. I can’t really say anything about the onion rings as I auctioned them off to my brother in exchange for a piece of toast, but they looked like a quality onion ring. Their fountain beverages are nothing special but also nothing bad. I’m also quite frazzled at the fact they got rid of the Coke Freestyle machine cause I absolutely loved getting a sugar free grape Powerade with my meal but whatever that Dairy Queen wasn’t made for me specifically. The food and drink wasn’t the star though. Remember that s’mores blizzard I alluded to earlier? That thing was probably the best ice cream I’ve had in YEARS. I don’t know what they put in that but gosh darn ever single one of my taste buds was activated to savor in every little bit of that blizzard. I swear to whatever deity lies above us if you told me I had just gone into the afterlife when I was eating that blizzard I would have believed you. I don’t know if I can put the feelings I’ve felt eating that blizzard into words. It was just… bliss. Whatever person at corporate who thought of that blizzard deserves to never face any negative feelings and deserves a big raise, and the employee who made it also deserves an employee of the month award just for that blizzard. Employees could use some more enthusiasm and happiness though. Otherwise 5/5, fantastic job...
Read moreAlthough the place was very busy, customer service is not their top priority. My son asked for chilli cheese fries and was told they do not make them there? So he asked if they make chilli dogs, and the girl replied, "yes". This came with an eye roll of course. Another co-worker came over to help figure out how to input the information into the cash register. So that might be why the girl needed help as I thought, maybe she's new. So I felt bad for her. The co-worker seemed a little upset about the request as well. When all was said and done I looked at the receipt to see we were charged for a chilli cheese fry, that previously didn't exist at one point? My daughter had no top on her blizzard which was very good BTW, but it dripped all over, and we asked for it to go? They were both pretty upset. Now we know not to go to that location for dairy Queen anymore. Long Prairie always does a great job at accommodating the customers requests. I suggest going a little out of the way to stop there instead. There is no bouncy house, but kindness at the end of the day is better than any extra outdoor play houses. Not trying to be a Karen here, it's just they were almost overstaffed so there is truly no excuse. I understand understaffing is the issue most of the time, and I am truly a fair if not over fair reviewer as I feel we need to keep our businesses alive here, but please try to do better? I feel blessed to have my job, and do it everyday with a smile! Even though it's tough sometimes, please try to put aside frustration when there is a rush, and always remember to keep customer service first! This keeps your paychecks coming in kiddos, and keeps a good business in business. To the manager I know you try...
Read moreI go here very regularly since it’s located conveniently across from Alomere hospital. They have two drive thrus. There’s one on the right where the driver side orders and they have another one on the left side where the passenger side can order. I noticed the right drive thru is generally much faster than the left drive thru. Usually to get through one car on the left, 3 cars on the right side will pass you/already get their orders if you arrive at the same time as the first car on the right.
I’ve noticed this is the only DQ that doesn’t give you a free pup cup. It cost $2.29 for a tiny bit of ice cream for my dog. It’s also the only place with a stingy amount of fudge on sundaes. I always have to order extra fudge to get a normal amount they give you at other locations.
This places rips off people. The only they have going for them is...
