From the moment we walked in, D Mike’s Resort and Bar made a strong impression. The space is spotless with fun, welcoming decor. We were greeted and seated immediately, and our server, Mady, was at our table right away to take our drink orders.

I kicked things off with the Irish Apple Old Fashioned—a standout cocktail with bold apple flavor and a dried apple garnish that added a nice touch. My wife tried the Premier Whiskey Sour, which was equally fantastic.

As food road-trippers who seek out poutine wherever we go, D Mike’s version ranks in our top 2. Their take features crispy fries, a rich house gravy, melty cheese curds, and tender pulled pork. Absolutely spot-on in flavor and texture.

We also tried the boneless wings with spicy peach sauce. The sauce had a perfect balance—sweet at first with a spicy finish—and the wings had a great crunch.

For the main dish, we shared the Bacon Beer Cheeseburger—bacon, pepper jack, jalapeños, and a generous pour of house-made beer cheese soup over the tots. The burger patty was perfectly seasoned, and though I’m usually not a jalapeño fan, they really elevated the flavor without overwhelming heat.

Out of curiosity, I asked for a side of their creamy dill mustard sauce (normally paired with another burger), and it ended up being a personal favorite—especially good with tots.

The only downside: the tots and onion rings weren’t as crispy as expected. The flavor was good, but the texture missed the mark slightly.

The highlight of the experience? Mady, our server. She was knowledgeable, genuinely enthusiastic about the food, and made us feel like valued guests. We also had a great chat with Tom, the GM, who clearly has a deep passion for food and hospitality.

If you’re in or near Alexandria, do yourself a favor and visit D Mike’s. It’s a must-try spot with top-notch food and even...

The newly opened D Mike's is ON-POINT and DIALED-IN! New owners Kellie and Mike are ALL-IN. With their recently acquired FIVE STAR General Manager Tom Amsden this team is bursting with; experience, quality, and consistency. D Mike's has everything you'd want in food, drink, and atmosphere. They create SUNDAY specials that rival any brunch in town(SEE PICS for breakfast burger-hamburger, cheddar cheese, bacon, tator tots, egg, fresh hollandaise sauce). They do weekend specials that range from; phenomenal PRIME RIB (my fav), to BARRAMUNDI FISH (I had to Google it. It's like tilapia but way better. With a white wine Beurre Blanc sauce that Seth Gonzales, one of their premier recruited kitchen staff prepares special). All of the usual suspects are in the menu as well. You can't beat the wings, and I know wings! The walleye is my GO-TO though, freshly battered to order, "When in Minnesota." They have FIFTEEN DIFFERENT BEERS AND CIDERS ON TAP. They have happy hour specials, and make thee most refreshing CRAFT COCKTAILS you can imagine. In fact, the bar manager Phillip Goellner is so dedicated to quality he makes ALL of his simple syrup in house. When you brew this all together you get a recipe for a great time, with a great feeling. You really can't go wrong at D Mike's, they're mantra says it all: Legacy Inspired &...

I ordered the Nottingham Dip - added mushrooms and tots. Got fries instead of tots, which was just fine. The dip and fries were very good, tho. Must try! My boyfriend got the Bacon Beer Cheese Burger. Jalapeños are fresh not canned. The cooks forgot the beer cheese so we sent it back. The burger & fries were both coated with the beer cheese. The description on the menu could be worded differently. But otherwise very delicious. My son ordered the kids Mac & Cheese. Very salty, mushy noodles and tasted more like an Alfredo sauce vs. a cheese sauce. He wouldn't eat it, but neither would I. The server took his Mac & Cheese off our bill. Which was very appreciated! I really liked our server, she did seem just a little overwhelmed. It wasn't super busy but it doesn't mean that it wasn't before we got there and she was shot by the time we had her.

The resturant itself was nice, clean. Very simple and tasteful decor. It is a tad bit echoy but high ceilings and simple wall decor can do that.

We will come back and try again! Still working through things due to being open for a...
