Genova Pizza — Restaurant in Alexandria

September 29, 2023. I know I have had negative aspects out here about grubhub. However, that is not what I feel about the pizza. The pizza has always been incredible. I ordered it today and again it was on point. And if you ever get a chance to order the zucchini sticks, please do you will not be disappointed. Unless you are a so-called pizza, connoisseur. You will find that this pizza is very good. Not Pizza Hut, not Domino's yuck. You will not be disappointed.

I still cannot order correctly from Grubhub.i had to order elsewhere tonight. Please correct the site with Grubhub. You might as well add desserts when it is corrected. Thanks. Something is wrong with grubhub. You contracted with grubhub, and it is only letting me order a 12" plain pizza. I wanted a larger pizza. It's not letting me add any toppings whatsoever. That's not what I want. What's wrong with grubhub and Genova?

Updating.. love the pizza! Also try the fried zucchini sticks. Yummy! They still need desserts on the delivery menu. Sometimes you want something sweet after your meal.

Food: Honestly, its a deli thats fast and honest. Doesn't have the best pizza in the world, but if im nearby I will gladly go again. I got a strombolli. The sauce was mid, but they were not shy with the riccota and stuffing it. For 10 dollars too. Compared to most places, you get what you pay for at least.

Service: Its just some folks working the desk, straight forward. I respect it.

Atmosphere, not the greatest. Its ok though, you don't really go here to dine in. This is more of a order your food, pick it up, eat it at home kinda deal.

Additional note: I hear their steak and cheese is good, given how decent this place was on my first time, I am willing to give it another go and see.

Update: Im giving the food a 5 star rating now, and here is why.

I went back to give the steak and cheese a try. I did it strombolli instead of calzone. IT WAS GOOD, but the ratio of how the sauce was inside it was dispersed. If I did this in calzone style, I woulda been stoked. This really killed the cravings I was having and I can say this.

Give the menu a couple trys, experiment, you may find...

Went there for a quick slice of pizza while my mom was getting a procedure done at the building next door. This Chicago gal was pleasantly surprised. I say Chicago gal, as we are experts with pizza. After eating one slice of this New York hand tossed pizza, I ordered one more. The owner was at the register and very kind. The crust was perfect. I had cheese pizza. The flavors were amazing. Simple, yet perfect. I live around 20 minutes away from this restaurant, but will surely go back. The owner said he is from Tunisia. Wish they would make some Tunisian dishes too. I have been dreaming of this pizza since I left!!!!!
