Worst experience ever came up against!!!! Extremely rude and unprofessional. I ordered couple appetizers. One of the them was a crab dish. I asked the server whether the dish was made with real crab or with the imitation "version" one. She said: We use real crab. I was hungry, I ate as many as I could but I did not finish the entire dish simply because it was not real crab. Anyway, I decided to order an additional appetizer (the chicken satay). Meanwhile, I provided feed back to the server. Few minutes later... the owner of the place came out yelling and screaming. He was under the impression that I did not want to pay for the appetizer. I tried to explain, yet he refused to listen, he was super aggressive and was bluntly IMPOLITE & SUPER RUDE. I am not sure what was happening with him or his staff or whether it is a communication/language issues or else...etc. No person should be treated in such low class manner. Furthermore, I am truly wondering what type of message this owner delivered to his employees? More importantly, how has this owner been treating his staff?...
Read moreI'm always happy with the food from Thanida! I had some for lunch yesterday, and decided that it was silly at this point that I haven't written a review. I've had them many times over the last several years and have never been unhappy. The veggies are always fresh and snappy and the flavors are bright. As a vegetarian I typically get the Veggie Chu Chee, but have tried several of their other veggie options and they are all great! I also love that when I say to make it truly spicy they don't disappoint. Yesterday, they really nailed it and I was SO happy with the spice level. So many Thai places seem afraid to really go for it and that is one of the things that makes Thanida my go to for Thai when I'm craving it and don't feel like cooking it at home. Do yourself a favor and if you were on the fence just do it. If you are not spice tolerant they do mild really well too. I have ordered for friends that can't do spice and they have been happy as well! PS sorry...no picture...I ate it before I thought about taking one. whoops ...
Read moreMany ethnic restaurants I go to I have some favorite dish that I judge a restaurant by so for me it's Panang Curry when visiting a Thai Restaurant for the first time. My wife and I were doing some local business in Alexandria, VA when we noticed Thanida Thai Restaurant and thought we'd give them a try. You have to understand that we live in a condo that is right next door to another Thai competitor, so we feel like we're cheating on a girlfriend or something. I have to say if we're in a relationship we said next door restaurant we're gonna have to break up after today's lunch! The Panang Curry was amazing with the right amount of creamy coconut sweetness, with the savory peanutty flavor I love and just the right amount of heat. My wife's Pad Eggplant was the bomb!! That garlicky basil sauce I just can't get out of my mind and the colors are like a painting. Well done!! A new favorite for us. We'll...
