IHOP — Restaurant in Alice

My family and I have always gone to this ihop since it opened its doors. Unfortunately, recently the service has not been as good. Service is very slow even though they barely have 2-3 tables, many of the new servers don’t know many things or say they don’t have ye plate or items and they constantly have to “go ask”, and take 5-10 mins each time to ask a question to the cook. But tonight was the last time we’ll be going! They did not want to honor the menu items that the website led by the link they have on their tables said. Mind you, we’ve always bought that same exact plate at this location and every other location we’ve been to and the lady manager/cook came out with what she called “An Alice menu”, that showed the same plate but did not include what the online plate said. After that, the plate I ordered was nothing like the one I ordered a couple of months ago. The amount of food in the Bowl was approximately half less of what the first time I ordered it. And unfortunately, the prices were exactly the same, with less food. The server no longer came to our table to check if everything was fine or see if we needed anything else, my coffee no longer got refilled.

After that, they did not want to honor the “Kids eat free” discount, because we had ordered an appetizer from the discounted price list. Not once did the server say if we ordered from there, we will not qualify to get the Kids discount. I don’t know what’s going on at this ihop.

I can say for sure it was NOT like that before, the previous cook is no longer there, the previous servers are no longer there, and since, the service has lost its quality. I am truly disappointed that my hometown restaurant...

Can't rate the food cause I didn't even get to order. . . The waitress sat me and my wife and there was one other table of customers. I asked for waters for both of us and 15-25 mins later, we had no water and had not been spoken to by any member of staff since. I had low expectations when walking into IHOP, but they shattered the floor with the disservice they provided. There was another table in the restaurant where, depending on the time, 2-5 members of the staff were sitting and chatting.

At least now it's pretty clear IHOP is not where I will be going in the future.

Update. Out of desperation for late night food. We tried again. My expectations were low. Night and day difference from last time but still not somewhere I'll choose to eat with any consistency. This time we were served food and drinks. Our waitress was the only one working the floor and was hustling. Occasionally we ran out of water and waited a while until she filled it, but I don't blame her for being overwhelmed since she was the only one. The kitchen forgot my wife's side dish and it took a while to get it. I assume there was only one person in the kitchen too. The food was edible but far from fantastic. I think the staff working was doing their best, but there wasn't enough of them and I'm sure that's IHOP trying to be cheap with hours.

In conclusion, good job IHOP skeleton crew. Shame on I IHOP for not properly staffing...

I was down visiting my parents in Alice, Texas. I enjoy the IHOP in Tyler, Texas often. This morning my mother and I went to the IHOP in Alice. I ordered the Lemon Ricotta crepes and she ordered the New York Cheesecake pancakes. We waited a while for our breakfast. Only one crepe came out and it was cold. My mother's pancakes were plain. The waitress apologized and said they were really busy but would get her pancakes out soon. So my other crepe was now brought out to me cold. Again waitree apologized and said they were trying their best. Mind you more than half the restaurant was empty as we were there before church.

Food was worse than a hotel continental breakfast and service was sub par for the kitchen. Our waitress was apologetic and stuck with what she had. So disappointing

Follow up, Zeke the manager, came out and visited with us. Mother's order was remade and was absolutely delicious, light and fluffy pancakes made the correct way with cheese and strawberries. My crepe was remade and was warm and lemon delicious. Thank you for making it right. I appreciate the...
