Tantrick Brewing & Stillhouse — Restaurant in Allegan

Refuses to pay back of house OT, wants extra help but refuses to pay full time hours. Owner is very rude to the kitchen staff, comes down to complain whilst never grabbing a rag or broom herself! Leaves hot food COVERED IN COOLER! Breeding bacteria for beer cheese and any hot held items. NOT COOLED CORRECTLY! All of that is ok, when it comes to advertising to employees a 2% tipout, and is never seen or traceable on a paystub/daily tipout. Real shame as it might be that the employees are actually tipping eachother out, and its simply intercepted by the owner.

Nickle and diming staff when you bring home the most income out of the joint is very sickening to see, as a member of the service industry for over 7 years, never have i seen something like this.

Taking the "retaliation" route instead of bringing pride back to local businesses by taking care of the small rotating staff pool the area has to offer is sad. Allegan already is high strung with opportunities, high turnover rate is like owning a dog, usually spikes up when the owner is...

*After reading the response edit, our awful service was on the food service, not the brewery. The brewery was cute and lots of locals.

The food … Awful service. Rudest and insensitive to costumer needs. Brought our food out and my son couldn’t have the bun on the burger (which we discussed in detail when ordering). Server rolled her eyes at my son (12 years old) and said fine, I’ll figure it out. Came back with a dry, cold burger and a few toppings.

*Sylene, if you have a 12 year old looking forward to food, his parents nicely communicating there is a bun on it and you grabbed it, rolled your eyes, brought it back with zero communication, how would you react? We have been to MANY breweries and restaurants that are so kind and sensitive to this minor request. This was not how you acted. The menu options for GF items are nice for adults. I don’t think asking for a burger patty is that off the wall for a GF option...

Stipped in and ordered a bottle of wine but was told a bottle was not available and thus ordered a small cup ( 6oz) of wine. Then ordered a platter of artichoke dip which sounded yummy but then waitress came over and told us it was not available. Then proceeded to order instead a platter of chips and cheese for same (replacement order). The waitress again came out and indicated that the kitchen would only give us chips and salsa as an order. We had already paid the tab for the original order but instead was only given food that was half the amount of the initial order. Spoke with the bartender and he stated that he split the food into 2 baskets of chips which in total amounted to what we paid for the Artichoke dip. In the end, my impression of this place is very low and hopefully others who read this will DECLINE to ever go to this establishment. This brewery gets 1 star maybe at best....
