Allegan County Historical Society — Attraction in Allegan

Visited on Sat 8-23-25. Everyone was so friendly and informative. We had a question on an old lighting business that was based in Allegan in the 60’s and everyone pitched in to help us get the location. Even a call was made. Greg gave us an awesome history tour!! It was a unique experience. It would be nice If they'd bring up that it's haunted while taking a tour and show evidence as well but I guess they charge for those. It was interesting that they have a motion sensor sitting on the judges desk but don't mention it unless you ask. I would have been interested in learning why it was there. A great museum!! We (two adults and two kids, 6 and 8) toured the Old Jail Museum and highly recommend to everyone. A great escape for an afternoon!
