About 5:45pm, today, drive thru. Food order was totally wrong. There was much confusion about my order. The drive thru is straight-forward, one vehicle, then the next.. orders get fulfilled and given out in the order received. Vehicles are not passing others in line. Should flow naturally. Ordered: 2 pc Golden Roast combo with mashed potatoes, tea and two tenders (extra). I wanted the roasted chicken and to try the tenders.
Even after I verbally confirmed with the drive thru window person that what they handed me was the correct order, I had a feeling it wasn't. It wasn't. Received: Meal - 4 tenders, plus the 2 extra I ordered, on top. Honey mustard dipping sause Sides - fried okra, french fries, gravy and roll
Suggestion for management: Train the correct procedure for the hand-off of orders to the drive thru personnel. The drive-thru person needs to understand that since they are the person that hands orders to customers, they have the duty to (actually) know that they are handing out the window.
As far as the food: Most from this meal got wasted, because I didn't want an all fried meal tonight. Tenders have a tasty batter. The chicken meat was also tasty, however the meat was a little though. Okra was good, and not overly battered. Fries had a good crispness and seasoning. Gravy was seasoned well, made tasty "dip" for the tenders and fries. Hiwever, all food seems a little over salted. Be aware if your are salt sensitive.

The Okra: The fried okra was a bit of a disappointment. It was a blend of old and fresh pieces, which affected the overall texture and taste. The inconsistency made it hard to enjoy, as the older pieces were noticeably tougher and less flavorful.
The Fish: On the brighter side, the fish was a delight. Perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, it was cooked to perfection. The flavor was spot on, showcasing why Golden Chick's fish is a local favorite.
Sauce Situation: However, the experience could have been elevated with the right dipping sauce. We were hoping for more of that delicious dipping sauce we received with the chicken on a previous visit. Its tangy, slightly spicy flavor pairs wonderfully with the fish, enhancing its unique taste. Instead, we received a handful of tartar sauce packets. While tartar sauce is a classic, it unfortunately overshadowed the distinct flavors that make Golden Chick's fish stand out.
Overall Experience: Golden Chick has some standout items on their menu, but attention to detail can make all the difference. Ensuring the sides are fresh and providing the perfect sauces can turn a good meal into a great one. I’ll certainly be back for the fish, but I’ll be sure to request that special dipping...
Read moreI’m only sharing because I’m in the food service Industry myself and I feel like you can’t correct the issue if you don’t know about it it’s very ironic I just got out of a eight hour meeting with our home office team and the focus of our agenda today was driving the value the guest receives despite the incremental price increases we’ve had to implement definitely don’t believe we received any value in the form of the product or service. As we requested our food for Diane after patiently waiting for 15 minutes following up with the cashier to find out the order hadn’t even been began. Oh the whole while we’re waiting on our food the young lady (Maria) who took our order sat in the drive thru window on her phone. When we finally received the food it was boxed to-go and the three piece combo they didn’t have the white meat so they took it upon themselves to substitute for another piece of dried dark meat chicken and still okra was stale…we had to wait for that to be remade. Then they started sweeping around our table as we tried to salvage what was left of our meal. Most likely won’t be back to this location but I love your product usually so I know this is a one off.
