Disappointing Experience – Feels Like a Business, Not a Temple visited the Radha Krishna Temple in Allen, Texas, and unfortunately, my experience was far from spiritual. It’s disheartening to see that what should be a place of worship and peace has turned into more of a business than a temple. Everything seems overly commercialized, with constant demands for donations at every corner.
The focus on money feels overwhelming, from the high-priced events to the overemphasis on “premium” services. It’s as though the spiritual aspect has taken a backseat to profits. Instead of fostering a community of faith and devotion, it feels like the temple is being run with a “loot” mentality, where every interaction has a price tag attached.
I came looking for peace and spirituality but left feeling like I had been part of a transaction. It’s disappointing to witness such commercialization in a sacred space. This place feels like a business rather than a temple. Everything seems to have a price attached — even the Abhishek of the Shivling is marked at $11, which is shocking and completely out of line with any other temple I've visited. To make matters worse, nobody gives prasad unless you pay for it, which is unheard of in any other temple I've been to.
The staff, especially some of the ladies, were extremely rude and disrespectful. I came with the intention of donating a significant amount of food, which I did, only to be disrespected by a staff member who told me not to roam around the temple. This was disheartening and left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I have never had such a horrible experience at any temple in my life.
The way this temple operates is disgraceful – it’s more about money and commercialization than devotion or spirituality. I urge the people of Texas to open their eyes to what’s happening here. This place is more focused on looting money than creating a welcoming, spiritual environment.
I will never return to this temple again, and I highly discourage anyone seeking a genuine spiritual experience from going here. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had in any...
