We had the most pleasant visit here today! Upon walking in we were greeted with smiles, positive vibes and uplifting music. The place itself is small, cozy and welcoming. Tina came to the table to greet us and helped us pick our menu by asking our preferences and offering suggestions. She hit each and every nail on the head. We started off with some incredible juices. An amazing Pineapple-Mango-Papaya and a delicious, refreshing, hibiscus flower juice. Next we had some Samosas which were prefectly crispy yet flaky and the beef filling was well seasoned and delicious! For our main menu I decided on wet fried red snapper which was absolutely gorgeous and even tastier! The sauce was perfect. It hit all of the notes of tangy, spicy and savory. The fish itself was expertly fried yet still juicy on the inside. It came with beautiful rice and my choice of plantains or collard greens. I cant ever pass up an offer of plantains, however, after tasting everything else I almost wish I got the greens. Good greens are so few and far between and I just knew I would have loved them. Next time for sure! My wife decided on Goat stew with fufu which was also excellent and fun to eat. Throughout the meal we were visited by Tina as well as another kind woman that was helping with our meal. They were welcoming throughout making sure we were enjoying our meal. I felt as if I was having dinner at my moms house. We took 2 more Pineapple-Mango-Papaya for the road because we couldn't resist. The price was very reasonable and I can't wait to come back. We wish we could eat here...
Read moreAuthentic!!!!! Let me start off by saying Tina is the nicest woman & ready to cater to you as soon as you walk in the door! My friend found her restaurant for me because I’ve been wanting egusi for a while now. We took a drive out & I ordered cassava leaves with rice, which had chicken in it & the chicken falls right off the bone! I ordered egusi soup with FuFu, one of each of the samosas & a juice which she customized to my liking! She had me taste the food as it came out to make sure I liked it. She asked if spice was okay with me. I’ll say the spice is very mild. To me it’s less than mild & doesn’t linger, if you’re not able to handle spice at all this isn’t for you. I had no complaints! The beef samosas are so good & filled with so much flavor & so are the chickpea samosas. They’re light, not heavy even though they’re fried and they’re fried perfectly! The outside is so crispy & flaky, the inside is perfectly cooked. She gives such good vibes & is ready to treat you with the best dining experience! Definitely a better experience here than other places I’ve been to in general. I will be ordering via doordash & personally dining in when i have time. I’m so glad we found this restaurant & she was so grateful for the support & so genuine! they were so sweet & they prepared all that food fast! it was really welcoming!! The food was 100/10 & there was not anything I didn’t like & I’m already planning my next items to get next week! Thank you Tina...
Read moreI was absolutely blown away by this place! I have been wanting to go for a while and tonight my friend and I stopped by, curious to try some African dishes. I had contacted them beforehand to make sure I’d be able to eat there as I’m gluten free. I had the recommended okra and fufu, my friend got the curried cabbage. And let me tell you the dishes were DELICIOUS. Not only that but we both had some of their hand made juices and were thoroughly impressed with how tasty those were too! The owner Tina was even there and talked with us. She seriously is the SWEETEST woman. Honestly everyone there was really friendly and welcoming to us. She brought some of their hot sauce to our table, and warned us before trying it. She was right to because it was very spicy, but also super flavorful. I definitely ate way more with my food than I should have but didn’t regret it!! She was even kind enough to give my friend and I some hot sauce to take home. Needless to say, I can’t recommend this place enough and I will definitely be back!! I already have some more dishes lined up I’m looking forward to trying. The only thing I would change for next time and that I would say to do is BRING CASH. I paid with my card and Tina never gave me an option to tip, so I didn’t get to tip at all. Next time I go I’m bringing extra with me to make up for this time because I definitely owe a generous tip from this experience. Thank you to Tina and your...
