McCall Collective Brewing & Restaurant — Restaurant in Allentown

I finally made it here after friends who live nearby had been ranting and raving about how great it is.

The beer? Very good, a good selection and the beers I was able to enjoy were well executed. The food? Decent and priced reasonably. The service? Great... at first

It took a turn when, after several beers and a sandwich, the bartending staff decided to completely ignore me. I nursed the last beer for awhile hoping to order more food... but I was ignored and my glass sat empty. I got up to go to the bathroom, and returned to a glass of water on my coaster and continuing to get ignored. After half a dozen attempts to flag someone down, I was finally able to get the check so I could leave to go elsewhere to get more food and beer.

It's absolutely the discretion of bartending staff to decide who and who not to serve, but I've never seen that discretion exercised so literally and passive-aggressively. So it's just not an environment I choose to return to. Your experience will...

Sometimes a place really is as good as the reviews say. And this is one of those times, and then some.

Everything was on point here. First off, find me another brewery so popular it has to do have a reservation system, I'll wait...

Anyhow I ended up sat at the bar since I packed a reservation and I'm glad they had a seat. The bartender made me a "dealer's choice" flight and each beer was great. I had a few pours across the night, and each of those was also, wait for it, great.

And the food, my god, the food. Most breweries have passable food and good beer or good food and passable beer. This place said "nope we're just gonna kill it at everything we do." I had the goat cheese/peach burger and I could never have guessed how heavenly that combination would be. It was a sticky, savory mess and I loved every bite.

Fantastic beer, fantastic people... McCall Collective cuts zero corners and takes pride in every detail, ensuring their customers the best experience out there. Just walk in and you’ll see what I mean. Great seating options and just a really comfortable, cool vibe. I recommend ordering a flight because I truly love everything they’ve brewed and you should try it all! Their head brewer, Matt, is incredible. I mean really, really talented at creating flavorful and delicious beer that will keep you coming back for more. Beer’s not your thing? No problem, check out their local wine and ciders on draft and their cocktail list that makes me wish I could happy hour at McCall Collective every day. Daily happy hours are not an option for me, so I absolutely love that they have BEER TO GO and I can stock up on my favorite beers in between visits. This brewery rocks and you must check it...
