Stahley's Cellarette — Restaurant in Allentown

I haven't been here since I was 14. When I came with my parents and now I'm 55. It hasn't changed much except for the flat panel TV'S. I don't remember a lot of the décor from then since I was only young.The layout of the restaurant hasn't changed much.I can tell it has been repainted and remodeled over the years. The irony is that I live maybe 3 miles away. To be honest it's not in my area of travels. Now that I know what I can get there I can go a little bit out of my travel zone to go there and have the same experience. I was with 2 of my friends who have been going there for years since it opened. They couldn't remember how long it had been in existence. We were trying to figure how long slahley's was there. I then glanced over to the bar and in the area of the kitchen doors there are 50th anniversary T shirts hanging their awesome way of figuring it out. I pointed them out to my friends and they were like WOW. They thought it had been longer. Congratulations to your 50 years!

My dad and my stepmother met here and obviously eventually they married since she became my stepmother lol. This place holds Family memories on how my New step family started! All 3 of us had the ribe steak sandwich and I'll tell you I haven't had a ribe steak in 30 years. I never had it in a steak roll . That was the BEST EVER to me and both my friends. The price of it was outstanding you just under $10 with French fries. That is definitely the bargain buy for feeding. The entire restaurant was clean and well maintained and I just love the phillies pictures that were on the wall. Just by chance were we are sitting at. I had a direct view to a TV that had the phillies game on. There was so cool to have that view! The atmosphere was wonderful even with having Children there it wasn't distracting. I must say the parents that brought their children kept them quiet as well as they could they are children after all. The server that we had was wonderful. Took our son here for his birthday, what a mistake We sat and waited 10 minutes before our Very Unfriendly waitress came to our table for a drink order, while the hostess sat 2 other tables and got there drinks Drinks finally come and now we wait another 10 minutes to order, stated we were ready to order, menus on a pile at the end of the table Order a cup of soup ( had to ask another waitress to bring it out) waited over 20 minutes for it to come out, it was barely hot Food finally comes out steaks are barely hot, mashed potatoes you could see sat a little because the gravy had the skin on it that it gets after sitting, wanted to say something to our unfriendly waitress but we just wanted dinner to be over On my way out I decided to approach the hostess to tell her about our experience and as I was talking to her the server comes and gets in my face and says if you have a problem with me you address me.Told her to back up and that I wasn't talking to her and then another server with glasses to big for her face , also got in my face and told me that if I did like my waitress the next time I come back I should ask for someone else. My husband and I have been coming here for over 34 years enjoyed seeing the actual owners managing the place and making sure everyone was taken care of and not watching TV at the bar or hanging out with the cooks. went on a Wednesday night with a group of friends. packed and loud, but was to be expected at a place like that and honestly added to the ambience; it also made our group feel better about our own volume because we're a naturally boisterous group 🙃 I don't personally like clams but my friends do, and their, "incredible clams," were the reason they picked this spot to begin with - they weren't disappointed! server was prompt and attentive even with the packed house and even brought us pitchers of soda so we didn't have to wait for refills. she took our dirty dishes away in a very timely manner, which is a huge pet peeve of mine as a former server myself. I got there about half an hour late and after my friends had already ordered and eaten a few dozen clams, but she was there taking my drink and food order within 3mins of me sitting down. ordered a simple meal - chicken fingers platter with FF and a salad with dressing on the side and BBQ & honey mustard sauces - and it came out fast, hot, and delicious as well as everything being completely correct; didn't have to remind her to bring XYZ. all 6 of us got separate checks and it was done in an organized fashion and without any annoyance or attitude. overall it was a very positive experience and I look forward to dining here again in the future! thanks,...
