This place is an embarrassing Chipotle rip-off.
I ordered a pork bowl and it was inedible. Read that again. I didn't say incredible....I said inedible. Not just bland, but the taste of was off. Off-putting. I threw it away. $7 wasted.
I asked for guac on the bowl. $1 extra, okay fine.
I asked for a side of guac for my chips. I'm glad I caught the price on the register because it said $4!!! FOUR DOLLARS, FOUR FREAKING DOLLARS for a side of guac!!! I told them to remove it.
They also want $1 to add queso to your burrito.
The chips look and taste exactly like Tostito's brand from the grocery store. Go look in the dumpster out back, see if you find any empty Tostito's bags. Oddly, the chips were literally the only thing I enjoyed about the visit and they taste store-bought. That should tell you something.
Like Chipotle, they are heavy on the rice and light on the meat.
My girlfriend liked her barbacoa bowl slightly more than mine, but she wasn't exactly jumping out of her seat about it.
This place isn't going to last, esp with their bland food, outrageous pricing and location. I say location because that corner spot is cursed. Nothing lasts there.
We won't be back,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOf course I've been to Chipotle and Qdoba, but I'd never been to Hot Heads before this visit. The setup was similar to the others, but when ordering, you also have the option of choosing a handful of "house specials" from the menu. Since I was unfamiliar with some of their ingredients, I opted for one of the specials. I shouldn't have. Even though I ordered something that they should have been able to make from memory, they still asked me whether or not I wanted every single ingredient. I don't know whether I got the special or not but what I ended up with was... okay. Not bad, not great, a little bland (especially for a place called "Hot Heads"), altogether just... meh. On the other hand, I got enough food to eat as my lunch for two days for five bucks. I probably will come back, but next time I'm not ordering a special and I'm going to ask a lot...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I just ordered here and we thought the food was very good. The queso is awesome and I loved that you could add cilantro and lime to your burrito, it really helped increase the flavor. I think without adding any salsa or sauce to your burrito, the chicken and rice would be slightly bland, but thatās why they have all of the extras they have, to help enhance flavor and compile a nice burrito. We decided to only give 4/5 stars due to price. Queso was extra, which wasnāt a problem but itās not at other establishments. We paid $21 for 2 burritos, both with queso and 1 with double chicken. At the other burrito chain down the street we usually only pay about $16 for 2 burritos. We will return though due to the variety of topping options, itās nice to have variety...
