Sushi Ninja — Restaurant in Alpha

I have been here many times. The food is great if you order take out, never had a poor experience and the sushi is very good.

On this rainy day I ordered it through DoorDash instead. I ordered a Sweet Potato Roll and a Chicken Tempura Roll. The bag arrived sealed and properly packaged, but the contents were so disappointing and frustrating as the order was late (DoorDasher was waiting in the restaurant for 15+ minutes!) from the restaurant as well. Not only did they come in the same container but there were only 4pcs of the Sweet Potato and 6pcs of the Chicken Tempura. For close to $18 between the two rolls before any service fees is this really worth it? Its clear to me they rip off their delivery customers because they probably don’t like the fees associated with it even though their prices are higher than their regular takeout menu. If that’s the case then simply don’t put your restaurant on DoorDash. Very disappointed and will be looking for a new sushi restaurant in the area now.

We tried Ninja Sushi for the first time tonight to mix it up and because my wife was out in Phillipsburg shopping. To preface, we’ve had sushi many times at all the Hunterdon County restaurants, New York City and numerous other states. Sushi is our thing, we rarely eat at any other restaurants when we want to get a meal outside local pizza joints. We’ll skip steak and Italian places any day to have sushi!

The sushi at Ninja was good. I’d rate it average-above average, but obviously not like the insanely expensive & exclusive stuff in NYC. Everything was fresh. They have a good selection of rolls, mostly standard choices on the smaller rolls and some different ones on their special rolls. The sushi sashimi combo was comparable to most other ones we have had around Hunterdon and NJ and the portions were normal.

Nothing to complain about at all. Prices were fair and the sushi was good....

Decided to finally give this place a try. I sent in my order using the online feature which was fast and easy. When I walked into the restaurant, my first impression was that it was very, very clean, neat, and organized. I was promptly greeted by two friendly guys, one of them being the chef behind the sushi bar. I waited a few brief moments for my order to be ready, paid, and was on my way. The garden salad was huge, the lettuce was crisp and fresh. Tomatoes were ripe and delicious. The ginger dressing was outstanding. I ordered the Fantastic Roll - it was very neatly assembled with very nice sized pieces of fish. The fish was clearly fresh, and incredibly delicious! Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed. I am already planning my next visit. Bottom line: fresh and delicious food, fast and friendly service. These guys have the formula for success!
