We stayed at The Snowpine Lodge for 6 days. The service at the pub was slow and waiters were pretty disrespectful with a lot of attitude. The food is average, nothing special. The waiters looked like they just got out of the bed with no presentability.
The most notable discrepancy occurred on the final night at the hotel's pub. While ordering a meal, our table was singled out for ID verification, an occurrence absent on previous nights. We had a bottle of wine at the same table the night before.
Such a selective approach, seemingly discriminatory, raises concerns about the establishment's commitment to impartial service. In upholding their standards, the hotel should ensure consistency in policy implementation, treating all patrons equally in every aspect of their service. They either have to ask for the ID of everyone sitting in that area or not. Despite the fact that I showed my permanent resident card which is well accepted at every airport, they insisted on seeing a passport which I was given at the check in 6 days ago. They should work at the airport, not at a hotel hospitality business. Their job is to ask ID every table, not make a wild guess. There were kids having beers right next table to us.
I felt like they have a lot to learn from hospitality and have a trained staff. They shouldn't leave interns as a night manager ( the blonde guy with thick glasses) who is clearly incompetent and lacks experience. You can put the most beautiful furniture in the room but if you don't have the right people, it leaves a horrible taste in guests memory.
Was at the pool and got hungry so we decided to go to the gulch to get some food because it was the closet place open at the time. We ordered a teriyaki steak salad, veggie burger and a kids hamburger. The description on the entrees sounded delicious on the menu and we were hoping to get what was described on the menu. When the idea were ready they were placed in individual to go containers (expected since we were at the pool). However the veggie burger and the teriyaki steak salad were no better than a dollar menu item at Wendy’s. The veggie burger was an over cooked Costco veggie patty, no cashew spread, no brioche bun, no sprouts and romaine lettuce instead of butter lettuce. Such a disappointment. The steak did not have any teriyaki flavoring. Salad was romaine again, no jicama, no honey lime vinaigrette. I had to go back and ask for a dressing and the cook didn’t even know what dressing was supposed to go with it. I was given balsamic vinegar…. The night before we seated ourselves, wasn’t waited on for 20 minutes, when our order was taken the server never came back to inform us about dietary needs bad how the menu could be changed. The stay at the hotel was great, but the food was a...
Read moreWe recently attended a wedding at the Cliff Lodge, Snowbird and were looking online for a good spot to eat where we didn't feel quite so captive. The Gulch Pub surfaced with its good online reviews and did not disappoint. The pub is located in the Snowpine Lodge - a beautiful spot that has recently been redone. Staff were friendly and attentive making us feel at ease. The pub is casual and appeared to have quite a few locals (great sign for good value and insight into things in the area). The food was perfect - gastropub is a more apt description. The waygu rueben was the best rueben my wife has ever had and I agreed with her after tasting. Fish tacos for my college age son satisfied. A nice selection of local beers topped it all off. Again, service was great. The view looking out makes for a relaxing place and we look forward to returning on our next tip to...
