Foster’s Tavern — Restaurant in Alton

Went to this pub for lunch and drinks with 9 friends. It took 45 minutes to get our drinks. The apps came out after the food. Which came out almost an hour and half after ordering it. Not sure how a pizza takes an hr and half to cook in “brick” oven. Out of the 10 orders 4 orders came out right the rest were wrong. The bill came out for 3 people, $84,68 for 2 burgers, 2 truley’s, Buffalo tenders and 2 Coors lights. The pizza was the last item to come out after everyone else finished eating. Tried to speak to the owner who apparently is the cook too, I highly do not recommend this place and the owner is extremely ignorant. To bad because bike week is coming, and this couldn’t feed a table of ten. Told us we had a large table they opened 5 days ago to give him a brake. Food was terrible also. I live within about ten miles of this place and have been coming here for about a year. It’s clean and the food is safe at decent prices. The owner seems like a nice guy who actually cares about his customers and the local community. The bartenders are friendly and fast when it’s busy. The head chef cares about consistency and presentation and he adds things to the menu occasionally, so I always ask if there is anything new and how it is before I order food. The servers will bring your food and drinks out to deck for you when the weather is good enough and a couple of them are hot. I grew up around here and have been eating in that building for more than 40 years and this is the cleanest it’s ever been under any owner, I’ve had bad food and service in other area restaurants and I think this place is a winner or I wouldn’t go...

Been there a few times now.. food is really good. However, you need to get the young waitress with long straight hair.. she's the best. The other waitress with curly hair is horrible, I mean OMG, took 10 minutes to come wipe our table, another 10 to take our drink order, another 15 minutes to ask if if we wanted food. Never once came back to ask if we wanted more drinks. Took 45 to 50 minutes to get a salad, wings and chicken tenders with french fries. The food came out cold because the waitress was too busy rolling silverware in the napkins and talking to people. She only had three other tables. So I am not sure what she was doing. Literally came over and checked on us once in the hour and a half that we were there. By Far the worst service...
