Olde Bay Diner — Restaurant in Alton

We were given a wait time which was totally fine but we were forgotten while people who came after us were sat. When we finally were seated the waitress seemed really annoyed, I get it I too work customer service but the attitude definitely made for awkward atmosphere. The food was barely warm. My husband got the pulled pork omelet and there were mushrooms in it which he doesn’t like and it wasn’t listed on the menu description. They were bad too, definitely canned as they tasted of brine. I had the sausage gravy biscuits and there was no salt which made it very bland. When our food was brought to our table so was the check, which made us feel rushed and unwelcome. I came to the diner very excited 5o be the first time. Restaurant was full. Put my name on the list which was the only name on the list. I waited in my car, very cold outside today. I watched 6 people leave and still waited over 20 mins without a phone call to tell me my table was ready? I called and asked for takeout but that wasn't an option. She said your table should be ready very soon? I waited another 15 mins outside and just decided to leave, quess it wasn't meant to be? What a darn shame because I am really hungry now and I have to drive a distance to another breakfast restaurant! Not the way I wanted to start...

Went for breakfast this morning. Extremely bad service. We were seated and a person dropped off our menus. Not even a polite greeting. I ordered the Irish Benedict. Came out cold and the english muffins was soaked in butter. The hash was the worst thing I have ever had. Waitress never stopped to ask how things were and I had to stop her and ask for more coffee. Paying bill wasn't any better waited patiently for her to collect the bill and credit card again needed to stop and ask if we have to pay up front. At the time we went it was not overly busy.
