Pizza Pie — Restaurant in Altoona

As a former NYC resident I never thought I would find authentic NYC style pizza in central Pennsylvania but I was wrong. Not only is this pizza authentic, it’s made by 100% real NYC Italians who were raised in Italy.

The key to this pizza is the sauce, the crust and the balance of the flavors. My favorite is the gramma pie. Which has the correct amount of everything (basil, cheese, sauce, garlic, oil) it’s 100% perfect!

Everything on the menu is fantastic, owner keeps a real window for slices and other daily specialty items for walk-in ordering. I love this because it encourages us to try new things, sometimes items that aren’t on their menu. One day there were meatballs, lasagna & hot Italian sausage w/peppers in the window; next time there were a few specialty pies, homemade soup and pinwheels (imagine a big fluffy danish, but it’s pizza with thick cheesy center encased in pepperoni - 100% fantastic!).

all 1s across the board even though I didn't even get to eat. I placed an order online. when I arrived to pick it up the owner just says "I know who you are" but it was my first time there. he had my name but no face so I was confused. he then started acusing me of leaving a review already. claiming I left a 1star because of some mask situation. still confused I try asking the man what he's talking about but I can't even get that out. he starts going off about my mask 😷 when I tell you I walked in and this all began, it's no exaggeration. luckily my bank let me refund the food I'd already paid for that he refused to give me. Not sure I'd want someone seemingly that unstable anywhere near my food. the universe did me a solid today. I'll just get...

Today was my first time trying this new pizza place. For starters they had about 6-7 different pies out on display ranging from different cuts and toppings. I decided to try the chicken bacon and ranch slice, deep dish pepperoni, and a slice of white pizza. Every slice was beyond delicious !!!! Not only was the food awesome, the owners were super friendly and made me feel like I’ve known them for years!! I highly recommend giving this place a try !!!!
