Ambridge Italian Villa — Restaurant in Ambridge

I will never return to this restaurant. I’ve been here three times in the past month. I tried many different menu items most were good. The reason I will never go back is they overcharged me on several items; when brought to the attention at the cashier, she laughed and said “that’s how we do things”. I asked for a manager, and the manager (sweaty and messy) said the prices on their website are old, and these are the new prices. They refused to honor their advertised price, did not apologize, just basically gave me the brush. My overall concern is that if they are doing this, how else are they cutting corners. I enjoyed eating everything that I was served except for the wings. The “fresh garlic” wings were disgusting. They were tiny, did NOT have fresh garlic (jarred/processed garlic), and had an off flavor. I’ve had the wings from Duss Ave Café across the street, and they are out of this world. If you want wings get them from Duss Ave. Café. I did enjoy the pizza, the Spanakopita, Greek salad, garden salad, Greek dressing (a bit salty) and chicken & mashed potato dinner at this place, but I can’t get past being way overcharged. I have not been in the bathrooms at the restaurant, but the dining room is outdated and needs a deep cleaning. Also the signage in the front of the restaurant and the general approach/curb repeal is neglected. Not the type of restaurant I would normally go into; a Groupon encouraged me to give it a try. We are ( or should I say were) long time customers of the Villa. The consistency of the quality of the food and service has varied greatly over the years. For a long time it was great, then it got really bad, was okay again and after tonight, I believe we are done with them. I placed an order through Grub Hub and was told it would take a little over an hour to be delivered. When we still had not received it after an hour and a half, I called the restaurant. I was not asked my name or what I had ordered, just told the driver was on his way, that they were really busy. After two hours, ( it was now 10:00 pm!) the called us. We were told that there was a mix up with Grub hub, they had never received the order. which was odd because the had our name and number and I didn't give it to them when I called. We had four tired and hungry people waiting for their dinner. We were asked if we still wanted our order. We told them to forget it, and had cold cuts. This is not the first time this has happened, we have had several issues with delivery. The shortest wait time for delivery is one hour, sometimes more, and we have once or twice received cold food after waiting that long. Too bad because they are one of the few places in our area...

We tried to order takeout from Ambridge Italian Villa again after having a poor experience, but we will never be ordering again! We got back into town and did not feel like making dinner so we decided to order takeout, we ordered a hot sausage sandwich a dozen wings and a pizza. When we went to pick it up they said they did not have a dozen wings so they gave us 8 and only charged us for 6, no big deal. Then our pizza was not not done so we waited letting the wings and sandwich get cold. Finally the pizza came out but they wanted us to look at it as they rolled the dough so thin that there was a hole in pizza, again no biggie. Then we get home and the sandwich was an cold Italian, a long way from a hot sausage. So I had to throw it in the over the wings were cold as well so I put them on the stove as well. So not only did they mess up the order I ended up having to cook anyway.
