For about a year now, I've been coming to this brewery which was highly recommended by a friend. She has been coming for years. I never had an issue and have always recommended this place to friends. It's always been amazing service. However! On two recent different occasions I've had a bad experience with a few of their staff members and the service. In the first occasion the staff was constantly hovering us and making snarky remarks as we were just trying to hang out. They forgot to get my second drink until i reminded them i had one. AND i ordered a pizza, which took nearly an hour to get to us. After 30 minutes of waiting, my friend went to ask about it and "it got lost in the system" i figured ehh. It happens. But On the second occasion my friend ordered mushrooms and cheese fries along with a mead. It was her first time here and in a few minutes they brought out the mushrooms. I went back to talk to the staff and they forgot the cheese fries. When I asked my friend where her drink was, she said they never gave it to her. So she went back to ask for it. For one order we had to constantly check in on THEM for it. Which was very annoying. Later that night the staff began to give us attitude. My friend was upset with the service and the staff began to argue with her then told all of us to leave. It was 9:50. They close at 11. We spent a lot of money that night on a lot of food and beers so I'm really angry about the situation. The staff has definitely been worse with time. We sat outside on both occasions to prevent this kind of behavior but the staffs only consistency was watching us and making...
Read moreGreat draft selection, but it gets so busy that it's often times standing room only.
I'm not a huge beer drinker, but my friends certainly are so we usually take the time to look for breweries in the area. We were recommended to Phantom Ales by a friend and were not disappointed.
They do have an offer where you can get $2 off an appetizer with a purchase of a pint, so I took full advantage of such and ordered their buffalo wings and later on throughout the night the onion rings as well. Quality of food is great. Everything is made to order so it comes out hot and fresh and is a perfect appetizer for sharing (or not).
Some of my choice selections include the passion fruit and mango cider, the sour cherry mead, plumber's crack, and the Octavius IPA. For high alcoholic content I recommend the sour cherry mead (13%) and the plumber's crack (16%). Honorable mentions include the apple cider and the peardon mead.
The bartenders here are very nice, but the female bartender is often forgetful. On both occasions I had to ask for a number for my food order and another time she assumed I ordered an additional appetizer when I really didn't.
Phantom Ales has a traditional brewery layout with warehouse lighting and some nice phantom/grim reaper decor throughout. I did enjoy the various board games they had, and we profited from the jumbo Jenga pieces.
Overall, I would certainly recommend coming here even if you're not a huge beer drinker like myself. It is a little hard to find, as most breweries typically are, but it is certainly worth...
Read moreWent last night with a group and was flabbergasted by the treatment we received by the woman in charge, said her name was Samantha but we also her someone call her dawn? I’m not sure. Several people in my group ordered food. A few people got everything they ordered in a timely manner, one friend had to ask about her order and a few minutes later it was brought out. Another friend order a pizza, a pepperoni and pineapple pizza. After about an hour she went up and to ask about her pizza. The manager came over and stated the system went down and communication from their iPad to the kitchen was gone so some orders never made it to the back. She brought out a pepperoni pizza told my friend to keep it for free and she’d bring out her order. She never did, then accused one person in my group of stealing a different customer’s order, subtly called my friend whose pizza never came out a little and kicked our whole group out because she couldn’t admit she never brought out the pizza. She would then proceed to ask who ordered what and tried to make everything more confusing than it needed to be. One person in our entire group of 11 was asking for her order but the manager would backtrack in what I think was a tactic to get her to backdown. All my friend wanted was her order and the manager couldn’t and wouldn’t do that. When she closed us out she went through the process and said “no tip because we don’t want it” prior to all of this the service was fine. I love phantom ales but this is definitely something that is going to...
