I wish I could recommend this place. We had two different people recommend this restaurant , so we decided to give it a try. When we entered, we felt a bit lost. You place your order in a back corner, and, fortunately, a patron directed us to the right spot (we saw no signs that showed us what to do). We decided on beef BBQ. I had mine on a potato and my husband had the plate. We paid for our order and sat ourselves at a table (no table service). The table was sticky. We waited for a few minutes and they called us to come pick up our drinks at a window. The drinks were small, with a lot of ice. I ran out of iced tea quickly (and saw nowhere to refill). They called us again after a few more minutes to come pick up our meals at the window. I was underwhelmed. The potato was pretty small (for the price), the beef cubes on top had no flavor (other than the drizzle of BBQ sauce). The whole idea of good BBQ is to slowly cook/smoke the meat and this was just an ordinary cubed beef topping. I finished my potato and left hungry and thirsty. We paid over $30 for dinner (my husband had water to drink). In general, the hospitality is lacking (they need to figure out a way to greet newcomers and help them navigate their system and/or create a better system). They need to stop serving beef BBQ or learn how to prepare it. I don't plan to return to this restaurant.

We found this little place using Google locals. We were driving through and we love to stop at restaurants like this. The food was delicious. The girl who took our order could’ve been a little more helpful and friendly. When you first walk in, it’s a little hard to tell what to do. We had to tell someone that this was our first time here and ask where we ordered at or if someone would seat us. After our order was placed it wasn’t a long wait for our food. I would recommend this place. I had the bacon cheeseburger and have no complaints about it or the home style fries. The place was clean and had a fun atmosphere.

Overall, very good experience. The pork plates had did not have too much fat, it was just enough - it was good bbq and solid sauce. Fried okra was perfect - nice and crunchy with a thin coat of breading. Potato salad was a tad sweet, probably from bread and butter pickles. Sweet tea was good. Fries with the kids grilled cheese were a little bit on the soggy side, but that was actually preferred by the kiddo. Would definitely go back.

No southern hospitality! No direction on what to do when u walk in..saw a lady in a window in the left hand corner ,no signs.. so we went up there she did not acknowledge us..I had to ask what to do because this was our 1st time going there, passing thru town...( sit ourselves down, order here, etc)said oh here's a menu it's an "old"one, the only one I have, come back and order here..ok.. sit down wherever.. So In the meantime we are looking at " old" menu.. Whatever that meant.(paper menu).several other customers came in .. She told them no more menus.. So I handed the one customer ours.. but hang on she had more "old" menus( on paper) she handed them a stack..I received mine back from that customer lol..I ordered a catfish filet plate had to ask how many pieces came with the 10.99 and 12.99 meal she said 2 and 4, ok ordered the 10.99 2 piece.. Then ordered a heart attack sandwich also 10.99 ..2 drinks..1.99 each .. She then said 2 catfish plates? No I said one plate, 2 pieces! And the sandwich please.. Ripped the ticket number of the reciept, Rang me up..I said ok so they bringing it to us or...? Oh she said you have to pick it up at the other window..ok fine, we sat down.. Food WAS horrible..fries undercooked, crows feet( potatoes wedges) undercooked, prime rib paper thin, few pieces didn't even cover the Texas toast size and soo salty on the sandwich, bacon hard and not spread out .. Just plopped in the middle of the sandwich..special sauce was a small circle that looked and tasted like bbq sauce..catfish portions was very small..hush puppies very tiny and HARD as a puck and tasteless (only one bite) the on thing was good was tater salad... And tea.. No lemon offered tho... Went for a refill and no one in windows had to wait and wait..ok so I thought about the price we paid.. Over 30 dollars plus I gave in and put 2 buck on a tip hopefully for service even though it sucked! So I then I told the same lady that I think we were overcharged according to the menu prices.. She stated sarcastically that she told me they were old menus..ok so she didn't tell me the prices have gone up on what we ordered.. She refunded us $1.10..! The menus she gave everyone were "old"and "older"... What a scam...even online the menu prices are not updated!!!!! The owner ought to be ashamed... Never again will we stop there I told her that she said that's our choice... No southern hospitality!!! Not southern...

Back in Andalusia Alabama, this time for a week. The Crows Nest is about a 15 minute drive just outside of town and is actually like a double-wide trailer. When you walk into this friendly spirited joint, right away you feel like your taken back in time with friendly service and customers. The food was "heart-healthy" as always when you come down south. Fried Foods and excellent barbecue choice menus. I had the Loaded Fries $for $3, not on the menu, but it is a large order of fries on a plate with sour cream and BBQ pork (choice of meat) on top and BBQ sauce (see Photo). A Rib-eye Steak Sandwich $7 and a diet coke $1. As expected, more than I could eat. I also tried the fried dill pickles from a co-workers plate. but I have to admit that Larry's BBQ had better fried dills. received the meals in about 15 minutes and left with a smile. The rib-eye I had was a little thin but packed with flavor. Just to set the record straight… they are "Not a Chain" like Larry's as the cashier was clear to inform me. :) Love it! Definitely recommend and their BBQ is as good as anywhere else I had in Alabama. Try the "Hart Attack" sandwich…(Not sure if the spelling is intentional or not) :) … Co-worker had it and said it was marvelous.

Back in Andalusia Alabama, this time for a week. I stayed at the same Holiday Inn Express as before back in March. Tripadvisor policy is one review every 3 months for reviews. So I can't write another hotel review. I was put in a Suite room this time to due my rewards status and there is a video of it on my...
