Great food, Amazing service, Cozy atmosphere. Those words start to scratch the surface of what you'll experience at Frischs. Personally, as for a dinner I got myself the 1/2lb burger with Pepsi, Onion Rings, and Mac N Cheese. To start off with the star of the show, the burger was a very welcome surprise. I have never enjoyed tartar sauce, and thus wasn't expecting their primary 1/2lb burger, which uses tartar sauce as it's primary sauce, to be good. With two perfectly tender and juicy patties as well as their soft buns, the burger far exceeded my expectations and might just be one of the best burgers I've sat down to eat. The onion rings were delicious, though not perfect. Some onion rings were not as crispy as their exterior would suggest, and another few onion rings seemed to be stuffed with more onion than they should've, leading to the onion rings affected being not only more dense than others but the onions inside to be less cooked. Overall though, I would recommend the onion rings. The Mac N Cheese might just be one of the best mac n cheeses I've sat down to eat. I don't have much to say about it, though it was stellar and the side was a very good portion size. In addition to these, I got an appetizer of pickle spears to go as I was craving fried pickles. I had one before leaving with their house ranch and not only was it perfectly hot with just the right amount of crispiness, but the house ranch was much beyond expectations as well. In addition to all of those, the service is stellar. My waiter was attentive, friendly, and welcoming, and if you looked past the salad bar (at least from where I was, there's a section where view of the center of the store is unobstructed) you could see the crew having fun with each other and actually enjoying their time on the job. Overall, my only possible issues with this restaurant are with the onion rings and my only regret is that I don't...
Read moreI took my family there. 8 of us in total. To start, they sat us at way to small of a table with 4 chairs. Sitting us so close to another couple that they could not leave their seats without moving us first. From the servers mouth "she didn't want to dirty the other side of the dining room" piling many more tables on top of us afterwards rather than seating anywhere else in the completely empty sides. My husband had to get the other 4 chairs to seat all of us because they didn't bring any when they sat 8 of us at a 6 person table with 4 chairs. She didn't remember a single bit of where the drinks went, and when taking our order, left midway to run food for another table. When she came back to continue our order, she was then yelling at someone else to grab more chairs because she was STILL piling all of these customers in a very compact side of the restaurant in order to avoid cleaning the "clean" side. Then we got charged $25 for drinks we didn't even drink or take home. We have never tried their food and now absolutely never will. As people who come from the service industry, this was not a bad day, simply a very bad employee.
Also, to the owner who commented on my husband's review. You absolutely needed to hear it twice. A manager was there the entire time. Watching your server do these things and two inches away from us most of our stay. If he isn't good enough to pick up on her extremely visible bad job, he probably also shouldn't...
Read moreWe love Frisch's and anytime we are in the area of a location, we eat there. Today at the one in Anderson IN, our waitress was a bit rude to me. I asked if you had club soda, she immediately answered no. No big deal, but then after I ordered I asked for a knife and fork, she rudely pointed out to me that it was on the table. Then I asked for extra tartar sauce for my hamburger, meaning: it comes with right? So bring me an extra one on the side. My husband had french fries and likes mayo to dip them in so I asked if we could have a side of mayo. she pointed out that we already had extra tartar sauce. LOL, she isn't our mom! I am probably old enough to be her mom. Then she waited a table nearby and the gentleman asked about club soda, she told him she didn't think you have club soda but would check. Really? Then the lady at the other table asked if there was extra mayo for her sandwich and the waitress told her it was on her sandwich, BUT if she needed more she would gladly bring it to her. I don't know what I did to her to evoke this bad service, but when she brought the check, she said "God bless you". Is that Christian behavior? Not where I worship. I thought maybe she was offended that we came in our casual clothes, but we were both wearing clean, nice clothing. Anywho, I just thought you might want to have a little talk with her about her table...
