My family and I had dinner here last night. As soon as I opened the menu and saw the prices I should have walked out. I am not opposed to paying $60 or $70 for an ale cart steak in the right setting, however when you walk into the establishment you are met with the smell of stale cigarettes smoke even though I think it is non smoking. The restaurant does have a very nice view of the horse track and races were going on that evening which were interesting to watch. We ordered shrimp cocktail and the shrimp had a very "off" taste, hard to describe but not pleasant. My husband ordered the Wagyu burger and when he bit into it a gray "liquid" came out, it was a very strange consistency and again tasted "off". "this is the worst burger I have even had!" is how he explained it. I had the "taste Indy" prefixed menu of salad, steak, asparagus, and baked potatoes for $65 and my sister also did the prefix of salad, steak asparagus, and mashed potatoes. Both of our steaks were "fine" but her potatoes were awful and my baked potato was dried out. Both of our asparagus were HUGE, unseasoned and under cooked. My daughter had the chicken dish with the polenta base and she said it was good. The service was SLOW, I think we were there over 2 1/2 hours, the waitress just took forever to get our orders and then to get the food out. We paid over $200 for this meal and we all agreed that is a place we will never eat at again. I am not sure how this place has so many great reviews, definitely not what we...

Read moreFirst time coming here to the Homestretch Steakhouse. Anthony made sure it was a fantastic first visit with superior customer service. The food was great. We had the BBQ shrimp appetizer. That was phenomenal! FYI...It was on the spicier side but worth the heat. We also had the lobster bisque which was also very delicious. My husband had the bone in ribeye with their amazing loaded baked potato and I had chicken with mushroom parmesan cream. They were both very nicely prepared and also very tasty. I've never been to a horse race before and luckily there were some going on while we were there as well. The glass wall made it easy to view all the action. Anthony also managed to get us a ride in the starter truck!! That was AMAZING!!! Thank you again Anthony and the rest of the staff that took care of us while we were there! We will be...
