Lantern House Asian Bistro — Restaurant in Anderson

I ordered the miso salmon. The menu states that it is served with Asian mushrooms, bok Choy, spinach, and garlic. I received a piece of fish on a bed of warm spinach leaves with no explanation for the missing ingredients. The salmon was well cooked and did taste good, but I felt cheated for the price. When we asked about the dish, we were told that it never has mushrooms even though the server knew the menu stated that it did. We were asked if we wanted fried rice or white rice with our meals and then charged $1.50 “up charge” for each fried rice portion without explanation. Our server performed her job adequately, but had a bad attitude the entire time. If I went to a steak house and ordered a steak, potato, and salad, but was not given the potato or salad I would expect an explanation and a discount. We were never offered anything, not even to speak to a manager. We have eaten at this restaurant several times and never had any complaints. The rude service, false advertisement, and unapologetic attitude on this visit will ensure that we never eat here again. Judging from other comments, this seems like a normal issue. First no take out menu. We ordered for ordered sweet and sour chicken. We had to ask them not to mix it with the sauce so the chicken wouldn't get soft. Got home no sauce. Chicken was rubbery. The fried dumplings I give thumbs up. Crabragoon was pretty good but no sauce. No chop sticks or other eating utensils. Their kitchen u can watch from parking lot and they need to teach staff about washing hands ect. Watched staff scratch head, ect then went right in and handled food. Even watched staff scrap something off a rice bowl and then used the bowl for a customer. The amount of food u get for the price was okay. I wouldn't suggest using them for takeout because u cant tell what your getting. Just grateful we had sweet and sour sauce at home and rice because I guess it didn't come with the sweet n sour chicken we ordered for the kids. For the amount of money we paid we really could have gotten almost doubled our food from another place. Will we try this place again? We will give them another try but just for us adults and...

let me start this review by saying I usually only review places that are good because I don't like negativity. This case however has me extremely aggravated. At first I thought it was okay. Food is definitely overpriced. Got home and checked out our carry out order. Decided to call the store and discuss what we had. Right in the middle of my sentence of trying to explain what we received I was cut off interrupted and treated extremely rude by the lady that answered the phone. She had zero desire to hear anything I had to say and continue to tell me what she thought of everything. To this second she still did not hear anything but two sentences out of my mouth after I told her what we ordered was not to my liking. Keep in mind I never got belligerent or rude just tried to tell them what I had in my dish and that was the end of what I thought was going to be a conversation.
