Servers and Cooks petting a dog In restaurant. I just had the worst experience ever in this restaurant. We have been coming for 7 years since it opened. I saw “service dog” at bar with a purchased Amazon harness. I saw our server pet him and then proceed to help people in front room. I stopped her and questioned when she came by our table. She acknowledged she did and said she would wash her hands. I responded that is not the point when 2 kitchen workers came out of kitchen and proceed to feed the “dog” and pet her. I asked for her and she came to our table and said they come in Every night since dog was a puppy (7 weeks old). First of all no dog is trained as a service dog as a puppy. Second no strangers are allowed near a @servive” dog they are so protective of “handler”. When I went up to my husband at register and said do not leave a tip. The manger started hollering at me as well as her kitchen cook husband or boyfriend to get out! The fat man cook white haired guy who we tipped $50 when we supported restaurant during Covid when only takeouts were allowed m, when I told my husband he shouldn’t be asked to pay with all employees and cooks feeding and petting dogs he leaned and to me as he was walking by and said if you don’t pay I will call and have you arrested. I will tell everyone I know in Cherokee County if my experience and also be contacting the Cherokee County Health Board as well as the NC Health Board of this situation. I actually met owners when they first opened and have visited many times and highly recommend. After tonight’s experience I can now see why the was no one but the bar people in the restaurant. There doors will soon be closing.
I appreciate your reply Tom. I have seen you in the restaurant many times and also even in the “beer” room making the fabulous beer. Actually it wasn’t the dog that bothered me. It was seeing our server pet the dog every time she walked from the front to the back and did not once wash her hand and then the kitchen help who is also the manager dropping food feeding dig on floor and petting. As far as not being welcomed back, thank you for that clarification. We gave pictures of my 94 year old mother in your restaurant several times last year who was no longer with us. What other way could I describe the rude cook bartender when he got in my face as I was talking to my husband and said he would have me arrested. He was gray haired. Ok. He is overweight, but with my description as the owner you sure knew who he was. Oh yes. I noticed the 100 posted yesterday in the restaurant. And yes I know you will reimburse my credit card my charges and thank you for that because what food that was brought home was thrown out. My suggestion would be this restaurant welcomes all dogs and cats in your website and doors or any other pets. I will certainly help you advertise that if you like. We have a huge dog. Since I can no longer eat in your fine establishment I want all my animal living friends to take their dogs and cats and even my dog rescue to your fine dining restaurant. BTW. You have not refunded our money...
Read moreI am being generous here. I don’t drink beer, so being a brewery I was already turning my nose up… but the root beer was very good! So I ordered the hummus app and the pretzel with beer cheese. The hummus was fine. Slightly bland, but I love that they heated the naan bread. Most places don’t bother and it really makes a difference. Pretzel was fine. Beer cheese was full of flavor and good. We ordered 2 pizzas. A typical veggie and a white pizza with blue cheese, mushroom and onion. The white sauce was Alfredo. It was good. I would have loved some Kalamata olives but being in Andrews, NC I know my taste is not common. The crust: I’m a real pizza snob, so I give the crust itself 1 star out of 5. Crust was dry, over cooked and just too crispy. Not my favorite. I prob should have had the naan bread as my crust. Sauces and toppings were good. Cheese amount was good. They dice the onions and peppers for the pizzas and that is a no go for me. The toppings were fresh, so that’s terrible to even complain about but I often let friends & fam order what they like and I’ll pick off what I don’t like… well, you dice things and it makes my picking more...
Read moreFrom the moment we walked in, to the last bite of our mouthwatering pizza and last sip of the beer, it was nothing short of fantastic.
Beer Flight Bliss: We were blown away by the exceptional quality and craftsmanship of their brews. Each beer in the flight had its unique character and flavor profile, and they were all simply fantastic. It's clear that the folks at Hoppy Trout Brewery have a talent for brewing with their well-executed recipes.
Perfectly Crafted Pizza: To accompany our flight, we ordered a pizza, and it was cooked to perfection. The pizza was topped with fresh, high-quality ingredients that made every bite burst with flavor. It had just the right balance of crispy and doughy, making it a slice of heaven. Not too thin and not too thick-- just perfect!
They were attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. It's evident that they take pride in ensuring every customer has a memorable experience. It's safe to say we'll be returning for more of their beer, pizza, and wonderful...
