First time eating at La Casona, it will NOT be our last. 🥰 THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!! Upon entering- the restaurant it was clean, neutral decor, low key southwestern. The staff was cheerful and welcoming. We were seated quickly in a BIG comfy booth. My husband was thrilled as not to be squished into a kid size booth. (He is an ex-football player. 6' 3" 285 pounds) The dining area is open and bright. Lots of tables, chairs, and large booths along the wall. They also have a big room behind glass windows with doors for family partiesor work outings. They also have multiple large flat screen TVs strategically placed throughout the dining area. Great for catching a game, news, or for those awkward silent moments (if you're on a 1st date) 😊 or great for people like my husband, whom loves watching TV while noshing. I ordered the street tacos- that came with a cup of Charros beans.❤ The tacos = double wrapped corn tortillas with steak cooked to perfection. It tasted like it was fresh off a wood grill, and they were NOT stingy on the cheese. Lots of delicious cojita cheese with onions, tomatoes fresh cilantro and limes. Did I mention these were VERY LARGE tacos. Out of the three tacos, I finished one, took home the other two for next days lunch. The charros beans were my absolute favorite. I literally would have had a big bowl of those, and called it a night. Hubby had the fish platter "Captains platter" Again generous portions. A big piece of delicious fried catfish. I am not a fan of catfish, nonetheless fried. But, I tried a bite. It was very good. (no weird wonky flavor that catfish sometimes has) big fried shrimp, and a few other misc fried fish pieces. He ate EVERYTHING so quickly. In ending this novel of a review; Generous portions, incredible tasting food, affordable prices, friendly staff. I definitely recommend, and we will definitely be...

La Casona recently moved further north on 288B, near the Tractor Supply but on the opposite side of the road. The new location is a much bigger space to hold more people and more cars are able to park, which is nice because the old location there was a lot of traffic and not enough car spaces to accommodate the large crowds that would go in and eat. The bar area they have is much bigger now as well, it looks like a U shape and it is in the center of the restaurant surrounded by TV's and alcohol, which looks really nice. They have many TV;s at every part of the restaurant, so people can watch any game that is on if they ask the waiter or waitress to change a channel to something specific. The service was good, it is a new location with new hires and so all the workers are trying to get to know the system and the way to most efficiently serve customers while helping each other, which I cut them slack for, they have man many new employees. The food is still very good though, I ordered the Tornado and I was very pleased with how it came out and the overall taste, it still tasted authentic. This is a new restaurant so the order process and food was about 40 minutes, but I expect this to come way down once the system is learned and the new employees learn as well. Recommend very much, plan on going...

This review is not about the visit we had today at lunch, which was excellent, with excellent, friendly, service, as always.

This is to thank your ownership group and management teams at all of your locations and concepts for providing the most professional and attentive service, and most love for their guests, of any establishments in the Brazosport area. By a mile.

I have never been greeted with an attitude, neglected, marginalized, or otherwise felt to feel "less than" in your establishments. Zero other "full service" restaurants in the area can boast the same. In fact, many will never have to be inconvenienced by my family again.

You are head and shoulders more respectful of your guests value for the dollar, desire for quality service, and expectation of good food. The consistency of service has been remarkable, and we have never had a negative experience at any location.

You are, by a wide margin, the best thing this area has going.

Many other local establishments could learn from your values and dedication to excellence.

Thank you...

Even though they were busy we were able to be seated immediately, served our drinks and chips and appetizer immediately. Our waitress was very soft spoken so in the loud restaurant it was very hard to hear her. Three out of four meals ordered was not up to the price. Returned the quesadillas due to the cheese they used was too greasy and tasted wrong, the child’s hamburger was a half size smaller then the bun, & my chicken fajitas was very little. Only onions with the chicken and a slice of an orange on top. The tortillas tasted and felt old, they were tough. I only received one small flat chicken breast cut into five pieces on top of onions. Beautiful location and very busy... maybe we just had a bad experience or there kitchen staff was sloppy tonight. We were seated right next to the bar and the bartenders looked angry while we there. Several staff almost bumped into my daughter passing by going behind or to the bar.

Got to give 5 stars for the jovial atmosphere here. Once you step in, it feels like you've entered a "happy place". Visited this place for a work lunch. Great choice. I heard that this is a new location and that they used to be located somewhere else in Angleton before. The place looks relatively new. Very nicely decorated with vibrant colors and welcoming atmosphere. The food was very good. To be honest, it's Mexican food that you would find in any other restaurant too. But the flavors were excellent and the food was fresh. So 5 ⭐ s for that. The wait staff was friendly and quick in service. Plenty of parking spots available. I came in on a Wednesday.around 11:30 am and the place was busy by the time I was leaving. I can imagine that wait times will be long on Friday evenings and the weekend.
