I went here with my boyfriend for a weekday dinner after hearing so many people talk this place up. Not only did it not live up to the hype, it was a huge disappointment.
We came into the restaurant and was ushered into a booth of our choice, no big deal. We were ready to order but the waitress took forever to attend to us. We decided to try 10 wings, half spicy and half soy, as well as the seafood pancake. The pancake came out first and it was beyond disappointing. The seafood on it was old and smelly, some of the seafood even had sand in it!
We didn't care to finish it and thought it would be better if we just saved our stomachs for the chicken. We had been waiting for maybe 10 minutes after the pancake came out and thought it was taking a ridiculously long time for the food to come out. We looked around for the waitress, and she was standing in the other diningroom, back to us, on her phone, occasionally taking a break from her phone to clean the table. We couldn't even get her attention because the music was loud and blasting profanity. Finally she finished cleaning maybe after 15 minutes of standing there, oblivious to the rest of the restaurant and came back to check the kitchen. Sure enough, she came out with the plate of chicken - who knows how long our food had been sitting there under the heat lamp.
The chicken was okay, flavor is nothing special. The chicken was on the bigger side so everything tasted very meaty. It would be better if they used smaller wings to bring out the flavors more. Spicy was not bad either, pretty good kick yet decent flavor, but it still had the same problem of being too meaty.
Then came the final straw, I saw an ant on my boyfriend's shirt and thought it was just from the day earlier. But then I started noticing ants crawling around on the wall. We thought we should just leave, but the waitress is nowhere to be found. My boyfriend decided to go to the bathroom to wash his hands and when he came back, told me that the waitress was sitting in a room on her phone. Him walking by might have reminded her that she had a job to do and I saw her rush into the kitchen and came out with dishes of chicken for the other tables. We got out check and hurried out of there, patting ourselves down for fear of bringing ants into my car.
I don't think I will be returning, ever, and hope management gets their act together and do better quality control of their food...

Culturally, fried chicken is a food that crosses over a multitude of cultures with its often marvelous, sweet, and crispy appeal. 😋 And, while I can't tell you what is so indicitvely distinct about "Korean" fried chicken. I can tell you that it did deliver last Friday at a teenager birthday celebration.
It cost a pretty penny via Door Dash, but the Soy/Hot wings were a winner. We ordered 16, flats and drums and only got one minu-cup of sauce. If there's a criticism, it's that they could and should provide more than one on the largest order option for wings.
We got seasoned fries that were great but heated up terribly dry the next day, FYI. We got the spicy pork, veggie rice, and mozzarella sticks. We were pleased with all items. The veggie rice is well seasoned, and the wings, while described as hot, were not very hot...and that's OK because the flavor was delicious. They were very crispy the night purchased but heated up with significantly less crunch and, while the flavor and tender meat quality held up, the crunch was disappointingly gone.
The spicy pork was a real scene stealer. It was quite spicy leaving a tang and picante on my tongue and lips....over a bed of white fluffy rice. This dish is something I would definitely...
Read moreI’m addicted to their spicy bone-in wings. I love the sauce because it’s not cloyingly sweet and the spice level is perfect for me (jalapeño heat if that makes sense). I haven’t tried anything else and it comes with a side of pickled daikon and I add rice. Both the radish and rice are done perfectly. I get a large which is 20 pieces and I can get 3 meals out of it. The wings are still pricy even buying in bulk but these are the best wings ever. The sauce and meat is heaps tastier than Bonchon.
The menu is confusing as a large combination can be 17 pieces, but that’s only if you want the drums to be like a regular chicken leg. The 20 piece still has flats and drummettes but they’re size-able so calling them drummettes is not really accurate. Other thing is it takes 35 mins to cook the chicken so your order will be ready in 40-45 minutes. But it’s so worth it. A few reviews mentioned 1 star service. She’s not the friendliest but she’s incredibly efficient for 1 person taking care of front end service, don’t take it personal. The wings are worth it.
This location only. My addiction is unreal. I started watching Korean fried chicken videos on YouTube and made it at home which wasn’t bad but I couldn’t come close to these wings in Annandale. I’ve lived in Alexandria for a month and I feel like I’ve...
