In my opinion, this DQ Franchisee (owner) is just plain greedy. If you use a credit card, they make more profit off of you because they charge a 3.99% surcharge (even though their merchant rate is likely 1.6-2.7%); in reality, the 3.99% rate that they charge customers is more like 4.28% because they charge this rate on top of sales tax, too. The cashier told me that they are "splitting the fee" charged by the merchant account with the customer (which is not true unless their is an unusual reason for the owner to be charged such a really high merchant rate). If you ask for dipping sauces, most Dairy Queens provide one or two for free when you purchase a combo meal and then charge $0.30-$0.50 for additional sauces. This place charges $0.96 for each and every dipping sauce (none are free). Blizzards are runny and seem to be in smaller cups for the same size as compared to other local DQs. This location doesn't even tip the blizzards upside down like what is required (because they would drip on the counter). 15-20 years ago, this place was really good; now, not so much. There is no reason to believe that this place provides the "best blizzards anywhere" unless you are talking about the distant past or are friends with the owners. I have visited this location many times over the past 30+ years and believe that this place is now just mid-to-low average as compared to other DQs. Staff is "ok" but not "great". Cleanliness is just "ok" - last time it was bad but this time is was ok. Food quality was "ok" but not great. The place is nicely decorated but really needs to be updated (most of it is paint made to look nice - just don't look too close). I was not impressed (again) by this place. In the future, I will go to the Buffalo location instead of this location. Employees always seem happier at the Buffalo location, you don't get price gouged with additional and unusual/unnecessary fees, you seem to get more quantity and higher quality products, etc. And no, I have no connection to anybody at the Buffalo or...
Read moreI went here for lunch, I live in the Twin Cities where everyone who walks into fast food is just walking money to the company. I was greeted as I walked in and was told to have a great day by an employee behind counter who hadn't even served me. Mind you when I was served my blizzard it was not served upside down which I believe is something all DQ are suppose to do but I over looked this because the employee had said they were fairly new and unlike other fast food my cup of ice cream was actually full to the top. I myself appreciate the friendliness of this establishment and would recommend giving this place a shot and as for any negative reviews read on here remember that everyone has off days. Make your own trip here to have an experience...
Read moreMe and my friend came from St. Cloud to purchase one of the famous blizzards at this specific Dairy Queen. I called in advance, and they understood that we were coming from a distance. However, they decided to close at 9:59 pm instead of 10:00 pm. This show unprofessional work to the customers. We called after, and they said that it was 10:00 on their clock, but all clocks should be the same. Thus, if you rewire your mind into thinking this is a good place to eat, you’re clearly mistaken. I would rather eat at the Dairy Queen in St. Cloud (not sponsored.) Thank you for reading this review, and I hope DQ takes this advice in the best way possible. By the way, whoever answered my call... You knew we were...
