After sitting down and asking about chips and salsa we walked out the door when we were told they don't serve them. Usual Mexican restaurant thing right? I love chips and salsa! That WAS one of my favorite things about eating Mexican! The sweetest lady I have ever met came running after us asking why we were leaving. We politely explained why and she asked us to just try it their way. We went back in with her and I am so thankful we did!! She was right. Their way was the best way. We had Pastor tacos and the best chicken Taquitos I have ever had with the freshest of ingredients! I could eat my weight in the Pastor tacos alone with the green sauce. When we left, I felt like I was leaving a family dinner. Hugs and thanks from the owner along with go plates. Thank y'all so much El Huarache Loco! See y'all again soon!

I abandoned trying to be politically correct a long time ago, so here it goes. When you want true, authentic Mexican food, you generally won’t find it with a #13 on the menu. When you want true, authentic Mexican food, then go to a place where more than just the staff are Latino. In our case we were the only ā€œwhiteā€ customers there. Our waitress willing explained the menu (again, no #13 option) and WOW was it good. We pride ourselves on finding outstanding ā€œhole in the wallā€ restaurants, and now we have a nearby Mexican restaurant to add to our list. 2 thumbs up… although I will caution you on the hot sauce (they bring 3 to the table). But as someone who loves spicy foods, the hottest sauce of the 3 will LIGHT YOU UP, so start slow, and enjoy actual Mexican cuisine for a change!

Amazing food and service. When I walked I was greeted with I felt like my own caring grandmother. Was seated right away and was asked if it was my first time. Once I said it was she immediately began explaining each of the dishes offered and that each one was hand made including the tortillas. I chose the handmade corn tortilla quesadilla dish with Al pastor and Chicharon. Food was incredible. The chicharon had a delicious crunch and the corn tortilla was toasted to perfection. The lady serving me seemed to be the owner and was the nicest, most caring person ever. This review may be influenced due to the nostalgic feeling but nonetheless the food and service is like no other. Solid 5/5 experience.

We are visiting from out of town and El Huarache Loco was recommended to us by some colleagues. We walked in around 130 PM. There was only one other table so Patti (assuming the owner) was able to give us a lot of attention. She was so engaging - when she asked what we wanted to drink she gave us recommendations on what they had in the cooler. When it came time to order food, she asked if it was our first time there and if we wanted to see pictures. She talked us through the menu and showed us pictures of the items that we were contemplating. She was just so kind and warm. You can tell that she genuinely loves people and her culture. The tortillas are homemade in house. They have desserts from a nearby Mexican bakery. My daughter said her breaded chicken torta was the best thing she had ever eaten. The chicken tinga was rich in flavor. And the steak and chorizo was very good too. Above all else, love pours out of Patti. She prays for all her patrons and insists that this is a place of God - that we are always welcome here. We will be visiting Anniston regularly over the next couple of years and intend to put this on the list for places to return to every time. My 15 year old daughter loved this experience so much that she tipped Patti $20 cash from...

Seriously, If you have found yourself reading reviews of this place, just trust them and eat here. We have 19 Mexican Restraunts and this place puts them all to shame.

There is not a better quality of food and service in the entire county like what we experienced here.

Tortas on fresh baked bread? Fantastic Drinks? Amazing In house made sauces? Great

But the tacos???? I haven’t had tacos this great since …. Ever really.

Authentic, delicious, and the owner is an ABSOLUTE JOY to speak with. She talked with my wife and I, shared her story, and mentioned that all of her life and blessings are from her god and the glory goes to him.

I was not asked to leave a review, but I know this is important to her and am happy to mention it.

Please patron this place and enjoy a great atmosphere, better food, and the best service I have ever...

I ate lunch at El Huarache Loco which is a hidden treasure in Anniston, Alabama. It is the best reviewed restaurant, but too many people are yet to discover it. When I arrived, I saw there were a lot of dishes with meat, and as a vegetaran, I wondered how well they would cater for my needs. I didn't need to worry, because there are many options! I had a huarache that was delicious. Basically, you can just say what ingredients you want or don't want, and everything was freshly prepared in the kirchen, which can be seen from the counter where customers place their orders. I also had a bottled banana and mango juice that was very refreshing. Patty, the business owner was my greeter and server. She was the highlight of my visit---such a beautiful soul. I can see why this place is so highly rated by its customers. I hope to...
