We are visiting from out of town and El Huarache Loco was recommended to us by some colleagues. We walked in around 130 PM. There was only one other table so Patti (assuming the owner) was able to give us a lot of attention. She was so engaging - when she asked what we wanted to drink she gave us recommendations on what they had in the cooler. When it came time to order food, she asked if it was our first time there and if we wanted to see pictures. She talked us through the menu and showed us pictures of the items that we were contemplating. She was just so kind and warm. You can tell that she genuinely loves people and her culture. The tortillas are homemade in house. They have desserts from a nearby Mexican bakery. My daughter said her breaded chicken torta was the best thing she had ever eaten. The chicken tinga was rich in flavor. And the steak and chorizo was very good too. Above all else, love pours out of Patti. She prays for all her patrons and insists that this is a place of God - that we are always welcome here. We will be visiting Anniston regularly over the next couple of years and intend to put this on the list for places to return to every time. My 15 year old daughter loved this experience so much that she tipped Patti $20 cash from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSeriously, If you have found yourself reading reviews of this place, just trust them and eat here. We have 19 Mexican Restraunts and this place puts them all to shame.
There is not a better quality of food and service in the entire county like what we experienced here.
Tortas on fresh baked bread? Fantastic Drinks? Amazing In house made sauces? Great
But the tacos???? I havenāt had tacos this great since ā¦. Ever really.
Authentic, delicious, and the owner is an ABSOLUTE JOY to speak with. She talked with my wife and I, shared her story, and mentioned that all of her life and blessings are from her god and the glory goes to him.
I was not asked to leave a review, but I know this is important to her and am happy to mention it.
Please patron this place and enjoy a great atmosphere, better food, and the best service I have ever...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ate lunch at El Huarache Loco which is a hidden treasure in Anniston, Alabama. It is the best reviewed restaurant, but too many people are yet to discover it. When I arrived, I saw there were a lot of dishes with meat, and as a vegetaran, I wondered how well they would cater for my needs. I didn't need to worry, because there are many options! I had a huarache that was delicious. Basically, you can just say what ingredients you want or don't want, and everything was freshly prepared in the kirchen, which can be seen from the counter where customers place their orders. I also had a bottled banana and mango juice that was very refreshing. Patty, the business owner was my greeter and server. She was the highlight of my visit---such a beautiful soul. I can see why this place is so highly rated by its customers. I hope to...
