La Plazuela Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Antioch

This is a late post from yesterday 02.12.22. I love going to new places so, my niece and I decided to come to this spot. We were just looking to snack on a couple of things because it was almost dinner time. We also ordered to go because we wanted to just eat it in the car. The restaurant is huge, very colorful decorations, and it looks like you can throw a private birthday party here. There’s a stage.

Service was ok at first. Staff were nice and friendly but the food took forever. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant and we only ordered a burrito, mini chimichangas, and horchata.

The food…well the reason why we came to the place was because of the rating. Chimichangas we’re horrible. My niece liked her burrito she said it was ok. So I don’t know what happened but I got old food or it was moldy. I took a really big bite of one and it tasted like dirt. I’m happy I didn’t get sick or throw up. When I looked at the meat it was green. The other pieces were brown. And there was no vegetables in the recipe therefore it should not have been green. I immediately returned it. The lady did not apologize and said that was the meat, well if that’s the meat I’m not coming back.

They did try to offer me new ones but I said no and asked for my money back. That was the first time I’ve ever gotten bad food like that. Maybe they had a bad day I don’t know, but I know meat does not look green. Just fair warning check your food before...

I will only say 1. With only 4 tables full and 6 people at the bar, it took another 30 minutes to put the main course on the table. 2. The pink lemonade sucks. 3. I ordered a carne asada, the only thing I can save from the plate is that the rice and refried beans were very good. but for $ 20 a plate, the companions.Very expensive in reference to what they serve you on your plate 2. Legit the worst food I've had in a dining experience...so sad. I seen a 4.6 star review and thought I was going to a good place but that was not my experience at all. We ordered all types of different food... chimichangas, shrimp tacos, flautas, tamales and margaritas. The food was absolutely terrible. Tamales dry...they came with sauce asked to be on the side and it tasted like nasty canned las Palmas red sauce 🤢. Chicken flautas and chimichanga were no better the meat tasted old and that was not a chimichanga... I wish I took pictures. Shrimps were rubbery and tough. I would never recommend this place at all. Save ur money and don't waste ur time with overpriced...
