UPDATE APRIL 3 2021. Family visiting from out of town and had lunch. As expected for a sunny, warm Saturday afternoon the place was packed. Didn't matter. Service was great, prices are still reasonable and the food is tasty. I had the fish sandwich which was served with a good amount of tasty crispy fries, and tartar sauce. The draft beer was served cold and the price was good. Note that it's "seat yourself" and they try to accommodate everyone so if you're concerned about social distancing you might want to visit during off-peak hours because it can get a bit tight. This was our fourth visit. Yep, it's that good and that much fun. Many of the locals dress up in western wear. We stopped in for a quick round of cold draft brews and a coupla apps - meaty fries and outstanding hot wings, which were plump and with just enough heat. Beers were served wonderfully cold on a day when the temp was 84 degrees and the humidity very low.

Mammoth Steakhouse is hands down one of the best spots to soak in that real Old West saloon vibe. Nestled in the heart of a ghost town with the stunning Superstition Mountains as a backdrop, it genuinely feels like stepping back in time. Cowboys strolling around, rustic wooden décor, and the lively energy of an old-time saloon make it an unforgettable experience. The beer and bourbon/whiskey selection is top-notch—plenty of choices for any taste. But the real highlight? The staff. Super attentive, friendly, and really add to the whole atmosphere. Huge shoutout to Mikey at the bar—absolute legend! He knows his drinks, keeps the energy up, and makes sure everyone’s having a great time. If you're looking for an authentic Western experience with great drinks and top-tier service, this is the place. Highly recommend! 🤠🍻

Less than a half hour from Mesa you'll find The Goldfield Ghost Town. Take a break from exploring the recreation of an old mining town and have lunch at the Mammoth Steakhouse and Saloon. I enjoyed a great chopped sirloin burger. Their homemade salsa was good. The atmosphere for adults and children alike! Beverages are almost $6 and the only water is bottled and $2.95 so don't be surprised. Lunch for three was $66 for the 8 oz burger and fries, two turkey sandwiches with chips, and three soft drinks. We left with full bellies and I don't feel cheated.

Hands down this was the worst experience I've ever had at an establishment. If I could give 0 stars I would. Not only was the food mediocre at best. But they had only 1 Tbone steak left. How a steakhouse (if you want to call it that..) only has 1 Tbone left is beyond me.. THAT IS WHAT YOU DO. How can you run out of the item thats the whole point of your business?! There were flies everywhere that I had to fight to keep off our food. And there is no AC which I can understand being that it's authentic but still less than ideal environment for a steak house. But once the bill came we noticed that there was 25 dollars in additional charges for water and a additional items on our baked potatoes.. Now when I asked the server why we were charged an additional 25 dollars for water and a loaded baked potato I was told that they were on a well and had to pay a lot for water so we had to pay for bottled water. (225 a piece a little steep considering I can buy a case at Costco for the same price. And second that even though it states on the menus the baked potato is included with the meal apparently your charged extra for sour cream and bacon bits. Now I own a business and I've been in customer service for 20 years. I get that sometimes there are additional charges. And I probably wouldnt have had a problem paying it had we been told up front or had it been on the menu.. But there was no mention that we would have to pay extra for water or a loaded baked potato.. So I asked for a manager.. So after waiting 20 minutes watching the server and what I presumed to be the bartender.. because of the way he acted talking and laughing about something. I Finally told them we were leaving and needed to speak with someone.. He comes over and with the most condescending voice says. "So your bitching about the baked potatos" I was totally taken back. I couldn't believe this person who was supposed to be some sort of authority in this establishment actually said that to me.. So I tell him I don't believe that it's right to charge someone an extra 25 dollars in charges. Without it being explained that there will be additional charges.. Either on the menus or the waitress explaining this before your charged. I am in retail sales, if we did that we could be sued for false advertising.. Not sure how this is any different . So he tells me "Go get a menu and show me where it says that water and loaded baked potatoes are free.." Again I was appalled that I was being yelled at and told that I needed to prove that. I shouldn't be deceived by the establishment that is supposed to be SERVING THE CUSTOMER not deceiving them.. So again I stated that I would not pay for the additional charges I would gladly pay for the food even though I was still not happy with the flys everywhere and the fact that they didn't have the 1 steak I wanted.. But he refused to take the charges off. So I was essentially forces to pay the additional charges. Since I didn't have cash so I couldn't pay the amount that it should have been.. Bottom line I've never in my life been so insulted and disgusted with the service and conditions of a food establishment in my life.. Needless to say I will never go back to this place. And I highly recommend nobody go to this place ever .. If at the least for a sanitary reason.

By the way as you walk out and look to your right there is a water feature that looks like a well that has water leaking out. Now if water is so scarce for you all why do you have a water feature that waists a ton of water from evaporation in 110...

Super disappointed in this entire experience ~ starting with the food all the way to the service. Horrible! $12.95 for Jalapeno poppers appetizer and only received five small poppers and a handful of Sam's Club chips with 5 inch, Dollar store paper plates to use. Should no way be $12.95. $4.95 for a small, 12oz clear plastic, disposable cup of soda. No free tap water to drink, if you request water, they will sell you bottled water. When our main food courses arrived, they all came in plastic baskets with paper liners, and plastic silverware, like you would expect from a drive up root beer stand. The barbeque sandwiches tasted like they came out of a can, no flavor and not at all as you would expect. The Mammoth Burger was far from mammoth size and tasted like a frozen burger. The Chicken Mammoth sandwich was far from mammoth size and tasted like plastic. My daughter said it reminded her of the lunches served at her school. DO NOT ask for ranch as they charge $1.00 for each 2 oz sized disposable plastic cup that is not full and they do not tell you that there is an extra charge for it. The decor and environment is nice but the music they played was piped through a static, blown out speaker ~ sounded horrible and was awful to listen to. Our server never introduced herself, couldn't crack a smile and was very unattentive. The bus boy cleared our baskets and checked on our table more than the waitress. She came and asked if we needed refills after several empty cups and then brought us a pitcher of soda and set it on the table. She walked away, didn't bother to pour it for us. 2 of us had diet soda and she didn't worry about bringing a pitcher of diet along with the regular soda.

We will NOT be returning or recommend this restaurant EVER. WIth the high cost of everything in the economy right now, you spend hard earned money and expect way better food and service. Our bill came to over $100.00 and we felt like we were robbed. The managment needs to take a hard look at this steakhouse establishment and make a huge overhaul! This is no way...

¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!!!!!!. FOOD WAS NOT GOOD. AN ADULT PLATE (GRILLED CHICKEN BREAST) WAS SMALLER THAN OUR KIDS CHICKEN TENDER LOL. THE PORK SANDWICH WAS HORRIBLE (MORE BREADING THAN MEAT) TASTED LIKE FROZEN CHICKEN THE COOK EVEN CAME OUT WITH A FROZEN CHICKEN AND THE THINNEST FROZEN PORK PATTY. TO SHOW ME THE DIFFERENCE.... SO NOTHING IS FRESH. THE FRENCH FRIES WERE NOT GOOD NO SEASONING, THE TUNA SANDWICH WAS LITERALLY CANNED TUNA, WITH 2 PIECES OF BREAD. NOT TOASTED NO BUTTER NO SEASONING WITH A COLD SLICE OF CHEESE... THE CHICKEN TASTELESS AND THE SMALLEST PIECE OF CHICKEN IVE EVER SEEN FOR A 20 DOLLAR PLATE. (LET ME REMIND YOU THAT THEY ARE FROZEN AND THEN THEY NUKE IT IN THE MICROWAVE AND THEN COOK IT.) THE DRAFT BEER WAS FLAT AND THE GLASS THAT IT CAME IN WAS DIRTY. THE TEA WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING, WAS WATER WITH WHAT TASTED LIKE ONE TEA BAG THAT WAS MADE OVER 24 HOURS OLD, TASTED HORRIBLE, THE WAITRESS PRETTY MUCH IGNORED OUR TABLE AND COULDNT EVEN LOOK AT US. I KEPT LOOKING AT HER TO GET HER ATTENTION AND SHE WOULD LOOK AT ME AND SHIFT HER EYES AND KEEP WALKING I HAD TO CALL HER SO SHE WOULD COME WHILE OTHER CUSTOMER WERE WATCHING, WE DID NOT FINISH THE DINNER, BECAUSE IT WAS HORRIBLE AND THEY TRY TO MAKE US PAY 217. . DOLLARS, SO WE CALL HER BACK BECAUSE SHE WAS PRETTY MUCH SPEED WALKING AWAY FROM OUR TABLE AND TELL HER THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. SHE THEN GOES TO THE OWNER AND HE ONLY TAKES OFF THE 20 PERCENT GRATUITY THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE WAITRESS TIP... BUT NOTHING ON THE ACTUAL FOOD, SO WE HAD HIM COME OVER AND TELL HIM ABOUT EVERYTHING AND HE TALKS OVER ME SAYING THAT THATS THE wAY THE FOOD IS THERE AND WE HAVE TO PAY 187 DOLLARS OR HE CALLS THE COP, SO NOW WE HAVE FOOD AT THE TABLE THAT WASNT EATEN WAS NOT COMPENSATED FOR. COMPLETELY NASTY AND WE HAD TO PAY FOR IT. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN! COMPLETELY DISGUSTING. AVOID IT AT ALL COST. SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEPLACE ELSE!!!!!!! I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISSAPPOINTED,...
