Edit to my review: The owner reached out to make things right for my wife and I. That is how you correct mistakes/mishaps and I will gladly return to give this place another shot. This conversation totally reversed my initial experience and I will be glad to return and support this local business!
This is a local spot I’ve driven past for a few years now. My wife and I went in today and maybe, just maybe we should have continued driving past this place. It was empty when we entered and the young lady at the counter seemed to wish it stayed that way. I can’t imagine directing a new customer with questions to the website for answers while working-it’s just an odd thing to do. When asked if it was to go, we were told it would be $1 extra (per mini) to go…huh?! You’re charging customers to take the treat out of the facility-ok… The treat itself is not a treat: it is unflavored ice similar to the frost that accumulates when the fridge’s ice maker trap doesn’t close completely. Then a generous helping of canned whip cream is heaped on top with whatever flavored syrup you crave. Weird experience that won’t be repeated. For the same price I’d recommend going to Publix, buying your favorite frozen treat, eating half of it and throwing the rest away - you would still have a better experience...
Read moreThis is a. I’ve addition to the Apopka community. It’s not ice cream but it’s also not ices. Maybe closer to frozen ice milk that’s been whipped. They call it snow but it’s a finely shaved ice mixture.
What to make of it?
If you’re hankering for ice cream this ain’t going to cut it on the satiety level. There are many fine options for that. This is a unique frozen dessert that offers many flavors and tastes. I’d say it has its own niche.
I enjoyed my tuxedo, chocolate concoction with some small berries and chocolate syrup, my son in law and daughter tried a Mexican mango little Spicy one and a cookie cream thing. It was all very good but I walked away unfulfilled?
The verdict
The weight or depth of real ice cream, whether low or higher fat hits the palate in a different way. This is unique but more low sugar but quick and not satisfying to me or my brain.
I felt for $20 for three small desserts this was ok but I went home looking for something more. I guess I would return to try more things, my wife thinks I should have ordered something more fruity, maybe she’s right?
Maybe I was looking for ice cream and I settled for this but I’ll return before I make a final conclusion. Happy to have options...
Read moreExcellent desserts! Well worth the extra money. I was reluctant to try this because I didn't think that shaved ice would be this good. I was thinking that it wasn't going to be much more than just a slushy. I could not have been more wrong. They freeze the dessert mix before shaving it. When you take a spoonful the desert crumbles a little like a very soft and moist cake. The mouth-feel is like a cross between ice cream and cotton candy. It's creamy and smooth like gellatto, and not icy or crunchy at all. It is really unique. You actually savor each bite. The base flavor is like a sweet vanilla, but they make it to your choice. There are lots of options. I had the peanut butter and added Twix toppings. Great combination. Excellent experience. Both my son and I enjoyed our desserts very much. The young lady working there was very kind and helpful. Excellent service! I felt like I was eating at a high end restaurant. The desserts were served on plates and the presentation was amazing. I highly,...
